Former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) was originally in support of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, but according to a revealing interview with Fox News, his perspective changed when he came across mysterious evidence.

Speaking to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on "Sunday Morning Futures," Gowdy said the evidence in question is FBI transcripts of conversations concerning Trump campaign associate George Papadopoulos and FBI informants. "Some of us have seen transcripts of those conversations. And I was supportive of Mueller. I was supportive of the idea to initiate, to investigate what Russia did," Gowdy said. gowdy suggested last month that the fbi intentionally withheld game changer evidence from the fisa court © press

Gowdy suggested last month that the FBI intentionally withheld 'game-changer' evidence from the FISA court "But when I saw this transcript, it actually changed my perspective, because you want to think of law enforcement as being unbiased and disinterested in the outcome, as long as we just find the facts," he revealed.

"This really matters. When you have exculpatory information, and you don't share it with a court...then your bias begins to impact the investigation."

Gowdy chaired the House Intelligence Committee before leaving office in January.

He suggested last month that the FBI intentionally withheld "game-changer" evidence from the FISA court while they obtained a surveillance warrant against Trump campaign associate Carter Page.

It is believed the transcripts Gowdy referred to are exculpatory evidence.

Last month, Gowdy advised Attorney General William Barr's investigators to look at Comey and Brennan. Various Republican lawmakers believe the government withheld the transcripts from the FISA court because they would have affected the case for obtaining a warrant.

Gowdy told Bartiromo the transcripts could potentially persuade the public in President Donald Trump's favor.

"There is some information in these transcripts that I think has the potential to be a game-changer if it's ever made public," Gowdy said last month.

There is a possibility the transcripts will be made public.

Last month, Gowdy advised Attorney General William Barr's investigators, investigating the Obama administration’s handling of the Trump-Russia investigation, that the key lies in emails between Comey and Brennan.

The Ex-South Carolina Rep. pointed Barr's investigators toward former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey.

“So whoever’s investigating this, tell them to look for emails between Brennan and Comey in December 2016,” Gowdy said in an interview with Hannity.

"Can you name one productive thing he’s done?"

I recall that he schooled Comey pretty effectively on how a prosecutor would go about establishing "intent". The entire nation could see that Comey purposely misstated the law.

Today, President Trump is the chief law enforcement officer of the land. If he hasn't yet indicted Hillary or Comey why would you blame Gowdy?

Gowdy should have stayed in office - he's one of our best...

Gowdy’s one of our most ethical people ... and easily up there with our top intellectuals...

He’s “ethical.”

That, and $4 will get you a coffee.

He hasn’t “done” anything useful but ponder and take stances.

There’s no “there,” there.

So, Gowdy with many years in government, has, as his greatest accomplishment, an occasion in which he chewed out a corrupt figure?

I stand corrected!!

Sorry, Gowdy proved beyond a shadow of a doubt during the midterms that he plays for team Deep State. He’s controlled “conservative” opposition and very good at his job.

I wonder how many on this thread will call a congressman useless when he had no prosecutorial powers.

I’m sure he made recommendations to Holder and Lynch. Do any of you really think they would have done anything?

Gowdy is no Devin Nunes or Jim Jordan! Gowdy has a severe lack of spine, guts, and nads. He talks a good game that never materializes.

When you illegally sell thousands of stingers to enemies you cant just call Schneider National to do the transportation. You need someone that specializes in work like moving contraband. Benghazi was not a “terrorist attack” it was just transportation picking up a load. A couple lives here or there is just decoration to make it all look good.

Patience, Barky and The Demon Queen will answer.

Goddy’s mistake was in starting with the presumption that Comey and Brennan were innocent.

I really hate to say this, but I think some of our guys, including Paul Ryan, believed that President Trump did illegal things.

In the beginning only those of us who believed in President Trump and totally supported him, did not believe for one minute.

The Black Hats had quite a few members who claimed many things that turned out to be lies. By then, it was too late.

“There is some information in these transcripts that I think has the potential to be a game-changer if it’s ever made public,” Gowdy said last month.”

The importance of “going public” is lost on many well-meaning Trump supporters here on FR, who will accept nothing less than jail time for Obama and his crooked minions.

But that’s not how politics works; political adversaries rarely go to jail, deserved or not. The best we can hope for is to finally turn the tide of public opinion against the Democrat Left.

For decades, with the MSM propaganda ministry in their pocket, the Left has enjoyed a wholly undeserved reputation as “the good guys”, the party of peace, the defenders of the under-trodden, the party of women, minorities, the workers, etc., while the Right is smeared as selfish, rich, cruel, bigoted power grabbing war mongers. The Left has successfully sold a pack of lies to the public, while the Right, though armed with the truth, has failed to get it’s message through.

We have a communications failure, not a failure of our justice system.

This Right vs. Left imaging problem has to be corrected, and obviously it won’t be ended by the incarceration or public execution of Leftist political adversaries, no matter how richly deserved.

So having white hats like Gowdy in powerful places who speak the truth is no small thing. It’s exactly what they should be doing - ultimately, it is the voting public, not Trump’s DOJ that needs to mete out justice.
