As Tropical Storm Karen approached Puerto Rico this morning (or late last night), a 6.0 earthquake occurred Northwest of Puerto Rico along with a 5.1 quake.
At the time of the quake(s), Tropical Storm Karen was South East of Puerto Rico.
But there is one more important detail: The quake happened between a major fault line (shown in red above the earthquake if you go to the USGS link below...) and Puerto Rico. And the earthquake was much closer to the fault line than to Tropical Storm Karen.

There is one other factor: Tropical Storms/Hurricanes will displace huge amounts of water (as waves, as rain, as energy).

With all the seismic activity and the increased pressures and eruptions noted at Yellowstone, the Russians have made a good argument regarding the recent thinning of artic ice. They argue that its not the ambient atmospheric temperature that results in thinning but the relative activity of underwater volcanoes and innumerable “smokers” that heat up artic water temperatures and the fact that the earth’s released heat ultimately rises.
We are supposed to port in San Juan this evening. Earthquakes and a ton or rain from a disorganized storm. We should have skipped this port of call
