You must not have any enjoyment.

interesting. I generally have good impulse control as it relates to food. The exception being Mrs. Mad’s zucchini bread which is a Paula Dean recipe. That stuff is like crack to me.

Well, I recently read an article about recent Russian immigrants. One thing about America that surprised them was how sweet the white bread was. It was like eating cake, one of them said.

Sprinkle a few grasshoppers on it. That’ll fix it.

Yeah, it’s satire, the author is just too young to know it is satire.

Paging Dr. John Harvey Kellogg

"Cereal would create fortunes and create multinational companies that we still know today. But Dr. John Harvey Kellogg K +0%, the inventor of corn flakes, did not care about profits. For him, cereal was not just a health food because it would improve Americans digestion. He believed a diet centered on bland foods like cereal would lead Americans away from sin. One very specific sin: masturbation."

The surprising reason why Dr. John Harvey Kellogg invented cereal

Here's wishing BenLurkin well in his struggle.

Buy whole foods and cook at home.

Nothing else.

Someone explain this to me.

I'm 55, in good shape, eat out almost never and cook from scratch.

Since menopause, I feel like I'm thinking about food and what I'm going to eat next ALL THE TIME.

WTH?

There’s no such thing as food too tasty, a tv screen too big, a woman too beautiful, a Harley too loud, ...

I didn’t know that this was news.

What’s changed over ‘Boomer lifetimes is that we patronize fast food palaces routinely and portion sizes are much larger.

When we were kids Coke came in 6 oz bottles and it was a treat.

McDonald’s fantasized about selling a million (small) burgers from its red & white striped joints with the giant yellow arches.

Probably the majority of us ate dinner at home cooked by stay at home moms, and it wasn’t a constant stream of sugars and fats and salt.

It takes time and effort to shop for fresh ingredients and cook at home. I wonder how many do these days.

Half of the seemingly better-for-you foods out there are still designed to make us overeat.

Complete non-sequitur fallacy.

Just because foods are designed to taste better, does not mean they ere designed to "make us overeat".

The author of the article places a motivation which does not follow.

These sorts of foods have been available for hundreds of years... but people avoided obesity because they were expensive. They could not afford obesity.

The success of capitalism has made foods cheap... and delicious. Which is why most people overeat.

Obese people, in the past, were rich people.

Now, everyone in Western Civilization has the potential for rich people's disease.

I need a score card to keep up with all the things I need to check and apologize for.

Just because it’s tasty to some doesn’t mean it’s tasty to everyone. I had spaghetti squash for breakfast, yuuuuuum! I’ve already had to give up carby potatoes and chocolate so guess squash is on the banned list due to nothing but it was tasty. Save a squash and eat cardboard!

Sit these scientists down at a table, for 3 days, and feed them straight flat grits for 3 meals a day. No butter, cheese, shrimp, sugar or spice, nothing.

Then, they will have eaten what folks eat, who are not overpaid, underworked and over rated scientists!
