A French photographer who flew into New York to take his girlfriend on a surprise Valentine's date is recovering in the hospital after having his throat slit in Harlem.
Gabriel Bascou, 28, was slashed in a random attack in the street as he left an IHOP with his 23-year-old girlfriend Manon Duma on Friday.
Gruesome photos and a video shared by Bascou on social media show a deep gash on his neck from ear-to-ear as he lies in bed with a tube coming from his throat after a tracheotomy.
Police have charged 28-year-old local man Khalief Young with the crazed attack. He is said to have carried out at least two random attacks before.

Gee, Khalief should play the lottery. I mean the odds against him randomly attacking three people must be astronomical, but he beat those odds.

Gabriel didn’t perform due diligence before visiting New York...of all that is unholy...and wound up with two tracheotomies.

He’s a black with a name that is either Muslim or one of those faux African names American blacks like to name their kids. And even money odds he was out hunting whites.
What a terrible story, this poor man!
However, going to an IHOP in Harlem on a Friday night sounds REALLY dangerous to me.
The girlfriend is working as an au pair in Harlem.
People in Harlem employ au pairs now? Has it become gentrified?
What a miserable excuse for a Frenchman. Everybody knows that for Valentine’s Day, an IHOP in Harlem isn’t nearly as romantic as the hospital cafeteria in Wuhan, China. :-P
