Thanks again for sharing. My guess is the Doc would want the HCQ if he tested positive. I get what he is saying but until we come up with something better or prove that it isn’t making any difference then it seems irresponsible to not continue treating with that cocktail.

I’m sure many have seen my opinions on this already and disagree, but I do think it is important to remain skeptical, especially in times like these. I can’t speak for Dr. Smith, but unless I am intubated and can’t say otherwise, I would not want the HCQ+Zpack combo therapy unless they can get me enrolled in an RCT. Giving two QT prolonging agents together in a disease that increases incidence of Vtach/V-fib is a bad idea if there is no proven benefit. Couple that with HCQ’s history of failing to demonstrate clinical efficacy in countless viruses it had shown promise in based on in vitro studies (HIV, HepC, Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika), and you can see why there are many docs right now that are a bit hesitant about its use. You have a known severe, but rare complication of the drug combo, and a low pre-test probability of efficacy. That combination should give pause to anyone considering this therapy. This is also ignoring countless people who are being treated with it for their connective tissue disorders now being unable to fill their prescriptions. Smith’s comments on this are not irresponsible, they are prudent.

The President needs to tell businesses—when you have enough masks for all your employees to wear all the time, then you get to go back to business.

Otherwise-—fuggedaboutit!

Yep. I think masks are key - it's the huge advantage Asian countries have over the West - wearing a mask has been part of their normal attire when going out in public for sometime now.

In lockdown areas of the US, wearing a mask in public should be made mandatory, but will cause flubros to stroke out.

“Our parents and grandparents lived through some very tough times. In some ways, we’ve been very fortunate”

It is important to keep that in perspective.

I’m working on my family genealogy during this downtime and it provides a lot of perspective for me: My Grandfather was a German POW in the Soviet Union in WW I. Nine years after WW I ended, he left the insanity of the Weimar Republic, rapidly rising communism and moved his family to the United States in 1927. He left behind a mom, dad and siblings he never saw again. His parents were thrown out of their home by the Soviet Communists in 1945 and had to walk back to western Germany at age 75. His sister went insane on the return journey. The Soviets confiscated the family homes and factories he had worked to build up over 50 years.

This is just a small piece of the family woes and privations on both sides from WW I through the depression and WW II. I’m sure every family has similar stories of hardship that are much worse than what we are experiencing today.

There are companies in Singapore that make N95/N98 mask covers in ‘fashionable’ fabrics that can be washed/reused.

Those are the black fabric ones you see on people in Asia. Also the leopard print, pink/etc.

Can’t post the site on FR but do a search for Fauci, Event 201 and Bill Gates for their mRNA-1273 vaccine.

Follow the money and you’ll see why they oppose the hydroxycholoquine treatment.

I don't understand why officials and media haven't worked to find answers here. But the need for the drug to immediatly save someone's life should supersede the need of keeping someone's arthritis in check - the lupus I'm not too sure about - but RA can be temporarily helped with steroid medication.

Field report from Mt Vernon WA emergency room:

Last night my wife was badly burned in a cooking accident at home (a scarf around her neck started on fire), and we had the misfortune of visiting the ER via ambulance.

In the ER there were two beds occupied by virus patients, and that portion of the ER was completely isolated. Huge warning signs regarding proper PPE, access only allowed to staff in full gear.

There are many empty beds in the ER. I asked the nurse about ICU capacity/bed availability, and he said that they were fine for now - but he was concerned about the next two weeks as they have patients in there on ventilators, not sure when they would be upgraded on status.

Just like we have been discussing.

I’m seeing more people wearing masks at the grocery. Maybe out of 100, I see 5 with masks now - not nearly enough. Should be the other way around.
