Let us preface this with yes, really.
After remaining well-behaved all winter, the mischievous polar vortex is set to thrust a lobe of frigid, wintry air south over the eastern United States, bringing snow to places in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and chilly temperatures from the Upper Midwest to New England.

So that’s what has been pushing Global Warming away from us!
Everyone can calm down, just be happy you won’t have to mow the lawn this weekend.
My old boss from NYC once told me Ive always felt I was a Southerner
Lol.
I was born in Boston but I should’ve been a good ole boy.
When I was in Binghamton NY, the young weather guy reported on “Cold Canadian air coming down out of Canada” with a straight face. My wife and I laughed our buttocks off!
I think they used to call that “Spring”.
Welp, I have family right near the bulls-eye. They were wondering whether or not to move to Las Vegas this year.
This will probably be the deciding factor.
...waiting till the first week in June....

Usual plant-out in SW WI is after May 23.
Last couple of years, it’s been at least 1 and maybe 2 weeks later.
Frost at the end of May (overnight 32 degrees) is common. Snow, sometimes heavy, in early May happens, too. Usually melts off by noon the next day. Bonus is the snow can insulate the early bulbs. Plus, it looks cool to see flowers peeking thru the snow and it really greens up the early grass.
Not Las Vegas, that city may never recover because social cramming is it’s sole purpose. Locals are in a panic.
It’s just weather, bro.
NOAA prediction models are terrible.
They predict under normal rainfall, a week before “100 year” flooding.
The entire thing should be defunded/closed down.
Coldest and wettest April Ive every seen in over 50 years and May starting out the same. My brother just planted his tomato plants in East Tennessee earlier in the week and they are calling for frost Friday and Saturday and in SE KY snow flurries Friday night and mountain tops covered. Lack of sun spots in solar max cycle and thus unusually cold.
Same with us, but last year we put them out on Memorial Day weekend and the following week we say cold rain and temps in the mid to low 30’s at night.
Stunted the growth of the plants for the rest of the summer.
We’er going to wait till the weekend after Memorial Day weekend this year.
You are correct. Saber Toothed Polar Vortex is much better than Bob. Of course they will add scary music and graphics. I have no idea how our ancestors survived without being told when to be afraid.
It only hit 70 degrees one time this year and that was last Sunday. We might not see 70 again until June.
Polar Vortexnado
“Those names arent scary enough.”
How about those Japanese Murder Hornets? That’s pretty scary! LOL!
Our ancestors used a weather rock. There was no option for hysterical ranting on those until much later.
this is western weather....cold at night and today supposed to be up to 70 or so....
I heard Portland oregone is going to hit 90 this weekend....
