I have heard that Cucumber Peels keep bees and ants away.
I haven’t experimented with it yet.

I can offer two suggestions for outdoor use on wasps and flowers. We had a growing problem with wasps that had setteled into a space under the roof overhang on the deck and commercial spray was effective for maybe a day and cost way too much for continuous spraying. A neighbor told us about the use of filling your sprayer with a heavy solution of water and detergent and spraying it as needed. Husband started in the middle of summer last year and narrowed them down but not out. This year they are gone. He sprayed them every time they came out but kept at it and for the first time in several years we are wasp free. The other thing is coffee grounds. I had read recently about using them in a variety of ways but was most interested in outdoor plants. I started putting the grounds in a large coffee container and when it was full I scooped them on to the petunias and other flowering areas, as well as rose bushes and hydrangeas and they are all, except the roses, the most beautiful blooms we have ever had. I continue to save the grounds and use them routinely. We try anything that seems to have potential and always open to new ideas.

A gallon of vinegar and a few drops of Dawn, makes a great natural weed killer.

I put it in my pump sprayer and lightly wet the leaves. Best applied on a hot, dry day.

It sure did kill the stuff.

If you want to do something more permanent that would kill the soil and prevent anything from growing there, add a cup of either Borax or Salt and wet down the soil as well.

Dawn’s good for cleaning oil off birds... doesn’t hurt the bird and does the job. We had a bird sanctuary here in Florida that used it for years.

Cayenne pepper works wonders on ants. I live in an old farm house. If an ant dares to come in, I sprinkle on area around their path. They get it on their feet and go crazy trying to get out. Of course, it gets tracked back to the nest. No more ants!

“I make an insect spray out of tea tree oil. It kills brown recluse spiders and does not harm the cats.”

Tea Tree Oil is deadly poison to cats!

That’s what I’ve heard. That’s why I tried it on my daughter’s work clothes.

It also took out the bike chain grease out of my good, tan pants.

My mom swears by that new Dawn soap that you spray on. I would love to try it out and may do so very soon.

Sauza blue tequila in some large mason jars, chunks of fresh pineapple. Let sit for 2-3 weeks, add a handful of habanero peppers sliced in half, let sit another week. Make margaritas.

Or, mix equal parts ATF, kerosene, acetone, and lanolin to make Ed’s red gun cleaning solvent. Haven’t used it lately, don’t know how toxic it is, but I still have a few gallons of it around here somewhere. I put it in old plastic laundry detergent jugs. Should probably check on it.

I soak in Epson salts to relieve aches and pains I sometimes get from playing golf. Works great.

For the brushing of teeth, I start with Joy dishwashing detergent (use PLENTY of water, otherwise you will get a very involuntary reflux), followed by hand sanitizer, straight on the toothbrush. Then swish and brush with hydrogen peroxide, followed by borax on the still-wet brush, with plenty of water to stop the irritation from the peroxide treatment.

Rinse mouth out thoroughly.

Your next drink of water will be the sweetest, freshest water you ever tasted. Even straight out of the tap.

Because you are not tasting your own mouth.

Good blended scotch, chivas vat69, splash of water, juice of half a lemon, cinnamon stick, and raw local honey, heated up. You probably know that one, but it works better than any cough syrup.

I was told that a Bounce dryer sheet in your pocket will keep mosquitoes away. Haven’t tried it yet.

Coffee oil residue builds up after making coffee a few times in a peculator ... how to clean coffee maker with baking soda:

Wash pot as normal then add water to normal fill line.

Instead of adding coffee add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to the basket and run.

When the soda and water are through percolating, unplug and let sit until the next time you make coffee. Next day wipe out with paper towel and rinse - - you’ll be amazed how much coffee residue comes off.

Most of the "is toxic to animals" is people being stupid. Everything is a deadly poison when they are in high enough doses. Seven drops of tea tree taken internally will harm a cat.

But who in their right mind is going to give a cat that much pure essential oil at one time?

In fact do not give any pure essential oils to your pets. At all.

Fifteen drops in a quart of water sprayed around the house will not harm them at all even if you use the entire bottle at one time. Which you won't. A bottle lasts about a month around here.
