Baking Soda & Epson Salt

Posted on 06/28/2020 1:05:07 PM PDT by Dacula

I am tired of buying store-bought products that do more harm than good.

I am curious if fellow FReepers were using baking soda and Epson Salt on a regular basis and if so what is your favorite tip.

Perhaps you have another 'Secret' product that you use.

I just cleaned a bunch of my pans with Baking Soda, salt, and vinegar. They look brand new.

It is Sunday. We should be relaxing and enjoying life as God intended.

I thought that this would be a good source to find tips and tricks for simple uses.

No politics, please.

A bit off topic but...

Dawn dishwashing does an amazing job cleaning Boar Shaving Soap brushes - resulting in soft and clean bristles.

He makes thing go "boom!".

I make an insect spray out of tea tree oil. It kills brown recluse spiders and does not harm the cats.

Water, bath tub, heavy grating, bricks.

I call it the liberal scrubber. Fill the tub, insert liberal, top with grating and lots of bricks.

For those pans where food is baked on....Boil some water and add baking soda.

The new Comet which does not scratch and is available at Dollar Tree will make your pans like new.

We used Baking Soda to brush our teeth occasionally when I was a kid.

Epsom Salts....You can bathe in ti....and feed your plants, too.

Salt and vinegar clean copper.

Tomato sauce does the same, but you have to leave it on longer. Found that one out by accident.

I use ammonia for laundry purposes.

Soaking yellowed, sweat stained clothes in straight white ammonia takes out a lot of the grease. I do it overnight or for two days, but cover it up or a) your whole house will smell and b) the ammonia evaporates and it doesn’t do any good.

Matter of fact, ammonia is good for taking care of grease in general.

Dawn takes out tomato stains out of clothes. Wet the spot, add some Dawn. Rub it in well, and roll it up and let it sit overnight. It also was the ONLY thing that took out the popcorn grease stains on my daughter’s work clothes when they worked at the movie theater.
