Fried chicken is serious business in New Orleans.
The city where the Popeyes chain was born in 1972 has no shortage of great places to dine on crunchy, flavorful fried chicken, but when some residents found out this week that Chick-fil-A was moving in, they weren't cluckin' having it.
"Something to smile about," New Orleans council member Kristin Palmer tweeted. "The City’s first stand-alone @Chik_Fil_A is coming to #algiers in 2022."
The popular chicken chain, which has also been embroiled in controversy for funding anti-LGBTQ organizations over the years, has stayed off Popeyes' home turf — until now.'

Yep, they had to somehow include the poor, poor poofters in the story.
Where I teach....this little southern town....Popeyes always seems surprised that you came for chicken. They never have anything ready. Plus they are not very good. The people who work there look like they just came off the street.
I have never understood why fast food franchises don’t follow the chik fil a training. It baffles.
They are two very different fried chicken products. I eat at both depending on what I’m hungry for.

Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich is one of my favorites.
I will say, I was one of those people standing in a long line in a Blue State for a Chick-Fil-A meal, and it warmed my heart. Being in the bluest of blue states, to see this long line was meaningful.
But I became quite disillusioned when they backed down. Haven't really eaten there since, and I did enjoy their product.
Tried them both (chicken sands). I think KFC’s new chicken sandwich is as good if not better than Popeye’s.
I remember how crazy it was in DFW when we got the first In N Out Burger here.
Chik-fil-A has been pro-LGBT for over 10 years.

Yeah I find their banjo-picking red chair social distancing commercials sickening. Can’t change the channel fast enough.
I don’t know whether to laugh, or say it’s a sad commentary when human beings fight over, and even murder for a chicken sandwich.
Let’s not forget the Publix fried chicken tender sub sandwich! Absolutely delicious.

I like their classic chicken sandwich. Actually, “like” would be an understatement, I’m addicted to them.
