Many website forums have a feature allowing the poster to edit his/her post after having hit "send". Some only allow edits within "x" minutes of posting, others have no limit. I wonder if FR could have such a feature. I,like some here,am a two fingered typist who makes more than his share of errors (thanks to my old brain cells dying off)...and they're usually discovered not long after having hit "send".
If it's not difficult...or expensive...to set up I hope FR will do it.
If the whole site is completely hand cranked and doesn’t use any standard plug-in stuff, then fair enough.
The flip side of the argument might be, what does the money for the freepathon get spent on?
Plus...
If the code was created in 1997 and is being very loosely maintained then who knows what security holes are in it.
I mean, a commercial forum using supposedly secure standard code was downloaded in its entirety only a few months back. A 20 year old platform might be a cakewalk to hack by comparison.
If security patching isn’t covered by freepathon I would not mind seeing the sum increased to cover that effort.
Post editing might be low priority, but one good argument for having it is if someone posts a copyright infringement or actionable libel, they have an opportunity to amend or retract. If there’s no edit option it is entirely down to the admins and site owners to reduce legal risk.
That’s the purpose of the “Preview” button. Use it.
its important ****
It works better than the “search” function
That's not a problem if you write in complete sentences.
Guys there is zero legitimate reason not to have an edit function. Not having an edit feature does not turn this board into some kind of truth serum and It has certainly kept many people away.
Not true at all.
Often I barely have time to proof my posts once.
Always too much going on.....
And, all things considered, there are some who are suffering from a pandemic in the region causing death even faster. This known to be true; personal experience.
Is there an urgent need for your post? If you’ve got time to edit, you’ve got time to proofread. Always time to do it over, but never time to do it right.
That’s why we have a preview button.
I use it every single time and it allows me to catch nearly oil of my mistakes..
I'm old school, I don't read the post or preview my response. Threfore not only is it nonsensical it's missplelled and displays poor grammer.
al baby? He be talkin’ bout chew...
...say Hi to your mom for me.
And we love you for it.
Proofreading should be done before hitting “Post” not after. The site makes it very easy to do.
This is hugh!
There's a grain of truth there, not only hugh, but ceres!
Solution: Everyone make more donations.
Just blame auto-correct Like everyone else.

>>> I see that term from time to time what is that all about ?
One of the most hilarious threads ever in FR history.
I’ll look for the link
Nothing to worry about, it's called survival of the fittest. They're the ones who can't keep up with the rest........
