Grieving families buried their dead Sunday following a horrific bombing at a girls’ school in the Afghan capital that killed 50 people, many of them pupils between 11 and 15 years old.
The number of wounded in Saturday's attack climbed to more than 100, said Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian.

You cannot change the values and customs of a culture by force. Our mission in Afghanistan was to make it clear that there would be severe, hurtful consequences if they became a source of terrorism directed at America and its citizens. However barbarically they behave among themselves is their business.

I spent an entire career working in the military industrial complex. Those companies have powerful lobbies and those lobbyists actually “know*” the levers of power in DC. I have seen the superior military product passed over for an inferior one, but going to a company who regularly employs people who make those decisions. Those products require a market and that market is all the little wars all over the world. Even when the government decides it is going to save babies in some African deification hole that comes with military force because in lots of those places you can’t move without armed guards. And, it always helps to “pacify” some group or other who might impede the baby-saving operation. (All of this is for a good cause. It’s just fortunate coincidence that free golf gets played or book deals get made.)
* Know...provide free golf, meals, hotels, trips, etc. They also can arrange a multi-million dollar book deal, or a substantial contribution to a “charitable” organization. Know means, *wink, wink, nod, nod, secret handshake.*

Announcing the date you will leave is idiotic. There is one and only one way to leave. You vanish. You just pack up and go. If possible it’s best they wake up one day and find you gone.
The minute we announced a departure date, every Afghan started to trim their sails for the fact that the Taliban will be in 100% charge the next day. That means not a single one of them can be trusted and they are all making side deals. Also any one of them would steal, kill, or turn traitor to show the incoming crowd they are “one of them”.
Our nation and military is run by educated simpletons. If any of them were thrown onto the streets and had to live by their wits, they would be dead inside of a month.

I can’t fathom how killing a bunch of young girls could ever be justified in a human mind.
Could have been ISIS or the Taliban. My money is in ISIS as the Taliban are more politically minded and are just trying to get us to leave.
The taliban and ISIS, however, aren’t human. I’ve fought them, captured them, and killed hundreds of them.
When you stare into their eyes, it’s similar to staring into (to quote “Jaws”) a doll’s eyes. Nothing but dead hatred in those fighters’ eyes. They’ll lose their whole squad just to hurt one of us. And they’re good with that.
Total war is the only way to defeat an enemy like that. And we no longer have the stomach to do what is necessary.
The Taliban has their hands full fighting ISIS, ironically. We just sit back and watch.

I swear, Conservatives are their own worst enemies. Yes, Liz Cheney and the Neocons are happy with this. But, they’re not in charge, and they didn’t order the reverse of the pullout that Trump got agreement to.

The warmongers in Washington are celebrating this news, no doubt. The endless war can now continue on.
We have learned the hard way that we cannot bring democracy and a liberal (tolerant) society to these godless Muslims. We cannot “reform” Iraq and Afghanistan or any “Stan”. Too many of our men and women died in these God forsaken places. Good people live there but they are overwhelmed by the psychotically evil, and power mad who make it to the top and lord over them. Thus imitating their fake god they name allah.
