My beloved fellow FReepers, just wanted to update you that my Dad is now in the Presence of Father God and The Lord Jesus in Heaven.
Eternal Rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. By the mercy of God, may he rest in peace. Amen.
About 2 hours before my dad died he said “Well - I’ve always said - the best day of my life will be the day I die and I get my crown of glory in Heaven!!”
“Well dad - it sure is going to suck for the rest of us.” (I was 28 at the time.)
So glad to hear that your dad is with Jesus! May your good memories of your dad bring you comfort.
Sorry for your loss. May your father Rest In Peace, and may your family be comforted that his soul is in Heaven with our Lord this day.

Beautiful how praising God as one passes from this vale to the glorious presence of God and those that passed to the other shore before you.
Your pain must be great, while your words indicate that your faith wmakes you rejoice. It is heartbreaking to be caught between the two. My sympathy is with you — hold onto the joy through the pain, and the love through the sorrow.

Your parents I know got comfort that you are a believer! That is the biggest thing of all when we look at our kids.

When I was a child, my pastor would quietly and with lots of sympathy, congratulate the strong Christian on their promotion when he spoke at their funeral.

Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!
It took me a long time to understand that. And in that same vein, I send you my condolences on your loss, and my congratulations on your father’s promotion.
