A Shocking Study on Vaccine Rates and COVID-19 That You May Have Missed: Countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people

I’ve had an earworm or two lately. Since coming across this study, I keep hearing 4 Non Blondes in my head:

“I cry sometimes when I’m lying in bed just to get it all out, what’s in my head. And I am feeling a little peculiar.

So I wake in the morning, and I step outside, and I take a deep breath, and I get real high.

And I scream from the top of my lungs, WHAT’S GOING ON?!”

You may be asking the same question after understanding the results of a large study about vaccines and rates of COVID-19. S.V. Subramanian Ph.D., a professor in Population Health and Geography at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, authored the study. His profile lists over 600 original journal articles that have been cited by other researchers thousands of times. Subramanian’s work focuses on population-level public health statistics and epidemiology curves of several diseases.

This study was published in the European Journal of Epidemiology on September 30, 2021, roughly three weeks after President Biden announced his vaccine mandate to distract from his flaming failure in Afghanistan. In the introduction, Subramanian noted:

Vaccines currently are the primary mitigation strategy to combat COVID-19 around the world. For instance, the narrative related to the ongoing surge of new cases in the United States (US) is argued to be driven by areas with low vaccination rates [1]. A similar narrative also has been observed in countries, such as Germany and the United Kingdom [2].

The data for country analysis came from Our World in Data cross country COVID-19 information. While this data set may contain confounding variables, such as testing rates between countries, the large data set can still detect trends. The county-level data for the United States was provided by the White House COVID-19 data team.

See this website . One only needs to read the first paragraph of the study’s findings to be shocked (emphasis added):

At the country-level, there appears to be no discernable relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days (Fig. 1). In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people. Notably, Israel with over 60% of their population fully vaccinated had the highest COVID-19 cases per 1 million people in the last 7 days. The lack of a meaningful association between percentage population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases is further exemplified, for instance, by comparison of Iceland and Portugal. Both countries have over 75% of their population fully vaccinated and have more COVID-19 cases per 1 million people than countries such as Vietnam and South Africa that have around 10% of their population fully vaccinated.

The opening lines of this piece only tell me that Nanowrimo November is upon us.
I guess the rest of it is actually about covid.

This is pretty much nonsense. The countries with low Covid rates are mostly garbage countries in Asia and Africa. It’s not that they don’t have Covid, it’s that they don’t have the ability to test for it.

This study is basically saying the same countries that have the infrastructure to test for Covid also have the ability to get vaccines to them.

What I am interested in is this : Is there a discernable relationship between percentage of population being given and using Ivermectin with drop in COVID-19 cases?

The examples of the State of Uttar Pradesh in India, Mexico City and Indonesia (among many cities) seems to suggest this, but skeptics abound.

Deaths, hospitalizations. ..do those count?
...we know the “tests” are faulty.

OK, let us grant this premise for now. But let’s look at countries that DO have the ability to test for it.

Shouldn’t there be a significant DROP in new Covid cases for advanced testing countries like Israel which has vaccinated close to 90% of its population? But the opposite seems to be true.

117 suspected breakthrough COVID-19 infections reported at psychiatric ward in Changwon

https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2021/10/119_317860.html

A total of 117 coronavirus cases were reported in just two days at the psychiatric ward of a hospital in the southern city of Changwon, all believed to be breakthrough infections, officials said Friday.

According to city government officials, three COVID-19 cases were first reported on Thursday and tests on other people at the ward showed that an additional 114 people were infected.

Of them, 110 were patients at the ward and the seven others were hospital employees.

All reported cases were presumed to be breakthrough cases as the patients all received two full doses of coronavirus vaccines from May to June, officials said.

The ward has remained under cohort isolation since Thursday. Local health officials are currently investigating how the outbreak occurred.

“Shouldn’t there be a significant DROP in new Covid cases for advanced testing countries like Israel which has vaccinated close to 90% of its population? But the opposite seems to be true.”

The thing with Israel is that their success was in getting lots of folk vaccinated early, but they never got 90% of the pop vaccinated. One issue is that Israel is a very young country with far more people under 18 that most of the west. These young folk were not vaxxed.

Being the first country so well covered is also a complication. It is clear that the vaccine effectiveness starts to wane after six months. Israel has started a booster program, and that has dropped rates back down.

In Africa, those "garbage countries" all take Ivermectin for prophylaxis against African River Blindness. Many of them in Asia take HCQ for malaria prophylaxis.

First off, it needs to be reemphasized that transmission of this virus increases on a county by county basis as the rate of vaccination increases here within the U.S. not only on a rate of infection, as noted below, but also as a rate of hospitalization and death. The media would have you think these are “rare breakthrough cases” when in reality they are rather transmission hubs within the U.S. so why would we expect anything different on a country by country comparison?

Excerpt:

When Subramanian analyzed county data from the U.S., it reinforced his findings globally. He found, “There also appears to be no significant signaling of COVID-19 cases decreasing with higher percentages of population fully vaccinated.” A deeper dive showed that the most vaccinated counties were listed as “high transmission” by the CDC. In contrast, among the counties with the lowest transmission rates, 26.3% have less than 20% of their population fully vaccinated.

Subramanian also notes that the CDC found an increase in hospitalizations and deaths among the fully vaccinated between January and May 2021. The rates increased from 0.01 to 9% and 0 to 15.1%, respectively. Director Rochelle Walensky and Dr. Anthony Fauci have never mentioned this statistic.

So your explanation of the post-vax covid outbreak in Israel was they did not vax hard enough? Also the fix now is to try again with the same vaccine (boosters)? Any room for discussing maybe the vaccine is not doing what was expected or promised? What if mass vax of healthy people was actually a mistake and made the pandemic worse?

Case count is irrelevant. What is the data on deaths and hospitalizations? As a matter of fact I would expect cases to go up in heavily jabbed places. People who have taken the shot can still get and transmit the virus but since they are protected against more severe outcomes they return to more normal behaviors (less distancing and hygiene) and thus spread more virus.

RE: Case count is irrelevant.

I think it still is.

We have been incessantly bombarded by media telling us that the unvaccinated are the ones infecting people and causing them to die. That’s the reason for vaccine mandates.

What about infected vaxxed people causing others to be hospitalized and die, some without them being aware of it?

Isn’t that relevant to the narrative?

So I went to the PDF shown in that image — https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.03.26.21254377v1.full.pdf

VEEERRRRRYYYY interesting. The PDF is the pre-print (abbreviated) version of the report, and doesn’t have that graphic, but it does cover the data and findings.

Thanks for posting it.
