FOX NEWS ^ | 29 Mar 2022 | Ann W. Schmidt

March 29 was chosen as the day to honor Vietnam War veterans because on March 29, 1973, the last of America’s troops left Vietnam and the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished, according to the Vietnam War Commemoration.

The relatively new military holiday was signed into law by President Donald Trump in 2017, five years after President Barack Obama proclaimed the holiday in 2012, according to White House press release archives.

NOT the BEE!

Received this from a friend and had to double-check.

Anyone that commands US troops or simply votes on their conditions should have 24 months of prior active duty, unless currently on active duty.

The bodies of the elites who got 50,000 boys killed should be exhumed and publicly desecrated.

RIP to the friends they took.

How to commemorate? A good single malt will do nicely, thank you.

Just shut up about it.

I got the message when I came home. It’s too late to change it now.

I attended a short ceremony at Quantico today and it was a little odd, but appreciated. It was odd because no Vietnam Vets spoke and the people who did speak apparently knew very little about the war.

Oh well, it's more than we got when we got back home all those years ago and I got a free pin out of it.

I am not much into this kind of holiday, but of all of them out there, I will readily sign on to this one.

On this day, I humbly and sincerely extend my gratitude and thanks to every person who served honorably and did what was asked of them to the best of their ability.

I am proud of those who served over there, and I am honored to call them my countrymen.

And there were and are plenty of them on this forum. I have had a chance to meet a few in person, and to each and everyone of you, I would snap you the smartest salute I could muster, and firmly shake your hand to give my thanks.

And you know who you are.

__”How to commemorate? A good single malt will do nicely, thank you.”

As a teetotaler from a long line of teetotalers, I would probably pass. Not because of religion, the clan is simply too cheap to pay for it when you can drink most water for little expense.

A friend insisted I try his Johnnie Walker Blue Label,he paid for it so I did!
Not bad and clearly better than the antifreeze I had ingested!
And gasoline too.
I didn’t gag or anything.

You are assuming that our war wasn’t necessary. Beg to differ; Vietnam was where the Soviets and the Chinese were pushing their latest offensive: the “National Liberation War”, the assisted civil war using massive support in the form of trainers, advisors, weaponry, ammunition, intelligence, and propaganda.
If you to resent somebody, go after the Leftist traitors who campaigned for the enemy under the fake banner of “peace”.

You “missed out” on our war, didn’t you?

“You “missed out” on our war, didn't you?“

You don't have anything more than emotion and a false premise, do you? Big tell. You pretend to ask a question when your intent is to make an contentious insinuation. Big tell.

Get worked up elsewhere, Chainmail.

“May I ask when is Korea Day?”

IMO, they all belong on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month that the guns fell silent in 1918, ending the war that was expected to end all wars...
