The celebration of Disneyland’s 67th anniversary turned sour over the weekend as some fans noticed that the Mouse House left out a nod to its controversial founder, Walt Disney.
“Why did Disneyland cut Walt Disney’s opening day speech from today’s anniversary celebration?,” asked one fan on Twitter. -snip-
Walt’s speech invokes “the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America,” which one Twitter user called “taboo” for Disney’s “woke” agenda.
“Because it mentions both history and facts, two things that are taboo to the woke agenda,” the user tweeted, adding an excerpt of the speech. -snip -
Another controversial move was when the company decided to scrub the use of “ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls” from its theme parks to make them more inclusive, and change its once-strict dress-code policy. Since last year, theme park workers can show up to work with visible tattoos in whatever gender costume they wish.
Several Twitter users commented that Disney’s founder would condemn the changes to his namesake company.
“Walt is rolling over in his grave. Wokeness has infected and damaged Disney,” one user wrote.
This year, Disney has found itself ensnared in a culture war in Florida over the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” law. At first, Disney CEO Bob Chapek declined to speak out against the the Florida law, which bans the discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation for kids in kindergarten through third grade.

Mouse House left out a nod to its controversial founder, Walt Disney.
So now, the liberal view is that Walt Disney himself is controversial? I guess I missed something. When did Walt become controversial?
Wait until they delve more into the details of Walt’s life. I recall an interview on a talk show with Dick Van Dyke about being hired for Disney movies. When asked why he wanted him, Walt indicated he had read an article/comments from Van Dyke about family values that struck a positive chord with Walt. Yeah, that’s not going to play well with the woke crowd.
Maybe the should replace all references to Walt Disney just like all the other cancel culture organizations have done to America.
If during his lifetime, the Disney corporation had devolved into the woke, neo pagan decadence it is now, Walt Disney would have dissolved the company and removed his name.
They have been sweeping him under the rug since the 90s.
Walt Disney is not controversial to me! I have always admired him. Walt was a patriot, I guess that fact is enough to cause other people to hate him and try to erase his memory and erase his artistic and business legacy.
Get Woke/Go Broke
Disney will destroy themselves over this. The goodwill built up over generations is being squandered.
As I recall from Accounting 101, Goodwill is an asset reported on the balance sheet. Torching the company’s goodwill should be a criminal act, or at least a failure in fiduciary duty.
And to try and slander him as an Antisemite.
PedoWorld only cares about one thing 🤪
controversial founder ????
The founder is NOT who/what is/was controversial.
I agree with this tweet:

“When people think of the word “Disney”, the first thing that may come to their mind is Mickey Mouse or an elegant castle. The person below is what comes to my mind because he is Disney. Without him there would be no Mickey or castles. Please keep Walt in Disney!”
Disney is dead in the United States.
Red China is their future.
Walt Disney is not controversial.
Walter wasn’t a pedophile-his memory must be scrubbed to accommodate all the current pedo employees and board members...
Anything the left wants to destroy is “controversial”.
If they call something “controversial”, count on it actually advocating for traditional values and morals.
Walt Disney: Spinning in his grave since the first Gay Days.
It’s a good thing there’s no L or R in Disney.
Subsidiaries to boycott besides just things with the word “Disney”:
I believe “woke” leftist degenerates obsessed with their own sexual degeneracy love Disney because it creates fantasy worlds that enable them to escape from reality (which is what they spend every waking minute trying to do with their endless “genders” and pronouns, etc.). Living in a fantasy world is all their lives are about. I think this is a big reason why Disney’s projects over the past number of years, while often technically spectacular, lack any sense of heart or meaning. They’re just spectacle for spectacle’s sake.
However, Walt didn’t set out to just create fantasy worlds. Yes, he intended to create places to temporarily escape the cruel world, but he also intended those places to educate people, to uplift families, and to celebrate America and the principles it was founded upon. All of these goals are anathema to the evil, self-absorbed Left, so must be destroyed.
