In an open letter posted on LinkedIn, Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) vowed that Republicans plan to roll back the hiring of 87,000 new tax collection agents for the IRS, a key provision in the inaptly named “Inflation Reduction Act.”
Democrats cheered as Joe Biden feebly signed the inflationary bill, which raises taxes on the middle class and weaponizes the IRS, into law on Tuesday.
Democrats contend that the new agents are necessary in order to boost tax collection from the wealthiest Americans. However, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the lion’s share of new taxes will be paid by the middle class.
The CBO estimates that those earning less than $400,000 will pay $20 billion more in taxes over the next decade thanks to the Democrat’s $740 billion spend-a-thon.
According to the Daily Signal’s analysis, people making less than $200,000 will be hit hardest of all.

Basically, come January, with a Republican led house...they can write the budget bill, and delete the funding for the IRS crew. Biden may refuse to play, but they can stall the budget for six months and trigger all kinds of pain.

Here is the problem: That IRS funding was designated as “mandatory spending” like Social Security instead of as “discretionary spending”.
That little difference will make repealing it like cutting an entitlement.
Watch the GOP lose their nerve when they try.
I don’t see any coordinated Republican campaign going on. If there was ever a time to nationalize a mid term election, this is the year. Everyone, individually, across the country is suffering from the same self inflicted wounds. This IRS assault is a perfect example. It’s got to be 80% unpopular. We’re less than 90 days from national steal day. A coordinated “Contract With America” is needed and most GOP campaign money should be used to promote it. Politics is not local this year.
OMG what could possibly go wrong, this is getting damn SCAREY!! I wish I had an acquaintance in Venezuela I would love to know how the steps in the fall of their country started!! We all THINK we have a constitution protecting this nation HOWEVER I am seeing the constitution being just thrown out the window, laws such as immigration thrown out the window, WHO or WHAT is going to enforce our constitution in Venezuela the military sided with the government WHY wouldn’t our military do the same?? Our election was stolen WHO THE HELL did one damn thing about it??

I cannot help but wonder if Sen. Scott knows that IRS employees like other government employees are damn near ‘fire or layoff’ proof.
And he does know that the Republicans need to win a majority in both the House & Senate before his warning will be anything more than another screech on the blackboard from the backbenchers.
They damn well better lay their asses off.
