Do away with 1200 year-old institutions in the name of “modernity,” and watch what happens next to a country. Just ask the Russians, Chinese and Germans.

Why?

Always remember.

The kings of England refused the colonies repeated requests to end slavery.

“As long as the colonies are under the Crown, there will be slavery there.”

When the revolutionary war started, seven northern colonies wound up declaring slavery illegal and done.

Good point. There are many things I could have brought up.

My, aren’t you the bitter one. My sentiments exactly. People like that are a waste of oxygen.

Gee, that is where England leaders want us to be.

They are the one’s joining China to help take us out.

The British banned slavery decades before America did.

The Queen worked harder and more diligently in her lifetime, and bore more responsibility, than that I’ll wager you have ever done, or could do.

It’s real easy to be a smartass on the internet.

What kings would those be? I can see George III in particular, but the empire itself abolished slavery in 1807.

And who are you quoting? A search engine shows this thread as the only source.

That is an interesting comment.

May we see your data?

Your response makes no sense.

Neither did your rant.

So there is symmetry.

You have a nice night now.

The Queen Mother or the queen herself ???

The mother of Elizabeth was also Elizabeth and was fondly nicknamed the ‘Queen Mum’

She lived to age 100 ...

Her daughter, the queen was never referred to as the Queen Mother ...

Whatever you may think of the woman, I believe she had a kind heart, was a lifelong horse person, and i never heard her comment about stupid people.

Queen Elizabeth II was a devout Christian. In that, as in much else, she set a good example.

She even took heat for it. In 2000, her annual Christmas address mentioned that we shouldn’t forget what “2000” referred to - two millennia since the time of Christ. The liberal media howled in outrage that she had the audacity to state their fact. You see, we’re supposed to forget that our calendar is built around the Christian faith. Like saying “CE” instead of “AD” changes the fact we count our years from the birth of Jesus. The queen was bold enough to remind us of this fact

May she Rest In Peace and rose with Christ

Well, the Royal Family is responsible for maybe $6 billion in revenue from tourism, they sell rights to events like weddings, funerals and tributes so, they are responsible for even more loot.

And we aren’t talking about just a queen. Here family represents lineage that crosses borders and has resulted in “Marriage” deals or prenups that have prevented wars or improved trade deals.

But, her lasting contribution was her steadfast leadership during the bombing of London and providing leadership to her family, which the citizens of the UK look to in times of crises.

Keep a stiff upper lip and carry on.

Without The Church of England the Protestant movement would not be where it is today so, sorry Anne Boleyn but, I’m a Baptist....
