“Fried mashed potatoes”

In other words, Pringles.

Venison, when properly prepared, is one of the best meats you can eat.

Potato pancakes. We made those often with leftover mashed potatoes. Well, my mom did...

Carrots.

Root vegetables were very popular during the winter months.

Beets, swedes, turnips, radish (early winter) leeks, onions and of course potatoes.

They were not as good as real ones. We add an egg, onions, and herbs to mashed potatoes. Then fry.

Winter storage radishes like Black Spanish will keep right through to spring provided they are stored correctly.
