I avoid self-checkout.
They ain't payin' me.

It seems that Walmart is having big financial problems. I wonder how much is directly related to their forcing self-checking in many of their stores.
The local superstore went self-check with 1 manned check-out a few years ago. I reduced my shopping their to only once or twice a year. When the self-check started, the 1 manned check-out had a line waiting to get checked out. Most of them were complaining about Walmart having only 1 manned check-out and trying to force self-checkout.
I prefer cashiers, but I am old.
it is especially annoying if I buy a flat of cat food and it wants me to scan each one and then gets upset when I don’t put it in a bag.
I have not been in one of the Amazon stores where you just walk out cause IT knows what you have and just adds it to your account

Right. Plus self-checkout lines kill jobs for unskilled people. Unskilled people have bills to pay, too. Give them the work.
If I ain’t getting a 20% discount then someone else will check us out. Seem to recall in MSPL a while back a lot of self checkout was occurring.
I find it funny that the full service is often a shorter line. For me, it is about getting out quickly. If I have lots of veggies that need to be weighed, it is quicker to go to the full service
In the suburbs I doubt that it’s a problem. I’ve never had a problem of seen anyone else have a problem.Cities just might be different.
Just got back from the local Dollar Tree. Guess what, they are now self checkout. Must have converted it this past week.
Most grocery stores likely throw out more groceries every day, than the amount of groceries stolen by customers every day... The losses are peanuts and the self checkout offers convenience for the customer.
Self checkout isn’t going anywhere. For instance... When is the last time you talked with a bank teller? Exactly!
I know... Some of you talk to your teller every day... But most people haven’t seen a teller in years. I know I haven’t.
I love self-checkout. Easier to monitor what prices actually show up and generally faster. The wait is usually shorter, too.
If I see a nice looking woman cashiering in aisle 7 however, I'll go to her, even if I have to deal with a 17-year-old bagger with acne problems.
How easy it is to steal...got 3 peppers? Just put in 2.
Maybe mis scan that steak...like pass over the scanner with a thumb on the bar code.
MOST folks are honest but a growing number think its no biggie.
Next, they’ll find a way to get the customers to stock the shelves.
One of the reasons that Target failed in Canada was their self-checkout lines.
Target just wasn’t able to stem theft when somebody would put a Barbie UPC on a $500 rug.
Self-checkout CVS/Walgreens/Walmart,etc., stores in San Fran, Portland, Seattle ...
Yeah, that’ll work.
They could have a greeter: ‘Hey, you forget to self-checkout. Now bring back that cartload of stuff and scan it.’
Keep a careful eye on self-checkout...more often than not, I catch mistakes; almost always in the store’s favor.
I use self check out when I’m getting one or two things
“Mark my words” is usually a tell.
Always count on the “people that annoy you” to phuck up a good thing.
Happens every time.
Me too. I prefer to go to one of the cashiers.
