BARTOW, Fla. — A man was arrested after he drove through a cemetery in Bartow, Florida. He damaged some headstones of some graves and ultimately crashed into a house.
Police saw Timothy David Adams, 40, recklessly driving and witnessed him run a stop sign just after midnight Thursday, according to WFLA. Officers attempted to stop Adamas but he fled the area.
Officers tried to chase Adams but he turned off his lights which made it harder to follow him, according to WTVT.
Adams ended up driving through a fence near Stuart Street which was on the side of Wildwood Cemetary, according to WFLA. Adams hit about six headstones.
Adams fled the scene again but just a few minutes later, Adams missed a turn and crashed into a house, according to WTVT.
“Officers moving tombstones back into place at Wildwood Cemetery after a suspect ran amuck, trying to elude the police, before crashing into a family’s home, and then subsequently arrested,” Bartow Police Department said on Facebook.
Police say they found methamphetamine inside Adams’ car when they searched it, WTVT reported.
WFLA reported that the judge found probable cause for two of six counts which involved the gravestones plus other additional charges.
The car Adams was driving had stolen tags. According to WFLA, the owner of the stolen car had insurance on it which is expected to help with the city with repairs as well as the homeowners of the house that the car crashed into.
No further information has been released.
It has been a long time since I have run amuck. The kids do it all the time. Maybe I should join them.
But not through a cemetery.

Turns out about like you would think.
I remember some of ghr roads in south Florida had crushed corsl roadbeds. The shoulders of the roads were white, and when there was s good moon, you could haul ass down them with the lights off.
There are weird people in all states. But I rarely see a headline saying New York man did this or that. But Florida is always mentioned. Is this an attempt to make DeSantis look bad?

My MIL recently passed away. She is buried in a graveyard I regularly bicycle by. I been stopping there weekly to place flowers. I noticed a local cat being let out at night has been digging a small hole on her grave, always in the same spot. So I been fixing that but last time I saw the cat had a fit and was digging on several nearby graves. I was going to fix those too but then left them be, so people can see what is happening. My wife said her mother would not care, she loved animals. It’s not like a cat is going to dig up a coffin. Right?
Here in my area (Pittsburgh PA metro), articles are often written about “McKeesport man” or “Bridgeville man,” (two towns around here). It happened before DeSantis regarding “Florida man” articles. I just searched in Google News archives and found articles from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015...
Why “Florida man?” Because more of the crimes are weird because of the drug culture there. It’s like California. Even though drug abuse hasn’t been legalized much there, yet, tolerance for drug abuse is extreme. Over the past few decades, it’s been a mecca for people who do drugs.
WTH?! The car insurance of the rightful owner of the vehicle - from whom it had been presumably stolen - will help pay for the damage inflicted by the thief?!
So the lawful owner and, by extension, his insurance company - will be held liable for damages caused by the thief?!

I would certainly hope not. I’ve seen Florida Man stories with dates prior to when DeSantis was elected.

Florida is 3rd biggest state. There are millions of people here. If the news said “Tampa man” that is okay.
Florida man is too general. Show me a news item saying New York man or California man. I have not seen any.
