Saw a huge 6.3 million share trade in Ford shares after hours. Wow. Anyone knowledgeable enough to explain that one?
I see cars and trucks stacking up they have no place to put them all at the dealership. Then if you do look, wow! mark-ups on the trucks. They don’t want to sell MSRP trucks, they want to sell scotchguard, corrosion package, lift kit, floor mats, tinted glass but no basic $60,000 truck. $60,000 is still a big price. So they sit and sit. Excess inventory can’t be good for the manufacturers. Broncos used to sell for a premium when they first came out. Now I see six of them (used) with their whole line-up of new. A person might be able to put a Coyote 5.0 in one and have a decent vehicle, I don’t know.
“Ford is destined for bankruptcy. It has invested over 10 billion dollars into the development and production of EVs. Most of that money was borrowed. People are simply not buying the vehicles. Ford is losing huge amounts of money and there is little hope that the situation can be remedied even with coercive government regulations that will not be supported by Republicans”
So, in other word JoeK Biden will soon bail them out with our money.
I'm with you on that. Drones are just part of the equation. We'll know who's right soon enough, based on the outcome in Ukraine.
You were mean and didn’t buy a couple of EVs from Ford. So now, you’ll have to pay for them and NOT get to drive them (through the bailout).
“We couldn’t win a WWII today. We are weak, incompetent and corrupt”
Nah, there are enough of us to roll up our sleeves after the deadwood and the corrupt corpses find their way to the dump.
Not anymore. It's 60K or nothing. So nothing works for me.
The P51 Mustang airplane went from sketchpad paper to full production in six months. Today it would take six years just to make the first test plane. Another four to go into production.
Then we could move to EVs.
But the government want No Ice after 2035, fire 30% of the auto workers, write of billions in machinery and plants while speeding billions to secure a steady supply of battery materials.
Ford may just be the canary in the Auto Industry....
I have a 2007 Sport Trac Explorer Limited, V-8 and 4X4. 130,000 miles. I’ll replace everything I have to before I buy another new truck.
Have read in the past three weeks that GM is investing $953 million in a new IC engine plant. They’re say the electric numbers don’t make sense.
me too..i was flamed by some nut when i posted about Fords weird business plan....
Not a spec of frame or body rust. I would sink $4K into it if I needed it brought from beater status to a reliable long trip vehicle. I rarely drive more than 100 miles a week.
Yep. You’d a thought I called someone’s daughter an ugly name. Weird.
Toyota has it right. Choices.
I have a Fusion and have been happy with it. I'm not sure what I'll replace it with.

If it’s paid for I keep it.
First car I ever bot was a 74 Bronco.....Should have never sold it.
EVs are indeed inevitable. Just as soon as they find a safe and efficient replacement for lithium batteries. That will not happen in time to save Ford.
Hey, maybe someone inherited some Ford stock and just wants to dump it for cash since they do no stock trading, know nothing about it, and need the cash to pay the rent that is past due.
This is an $80 million transaction. I don’t think it is someone suddenly down on their luck.
Maybe the investors put 2 and 2 together and figured out that their move into EV-only is suicide?
