An Indiana father who adopted a six-year-old Ukrainian girl with his wife 2010, only to then come to believe she was an adult dwarf set on harming them, has claimed she threatened to kill someone in their home.
Michael Barnett says Natalia Grace told him: 'I promise you within five years someone is dead.'
He has spoken out in a new documentary entitled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, which will be released in three parts on Investigation Discovery (ID) starting on May 29.
Barnett and his wife, Kristine, petitioned to have Natalia Grace's birth certificate changed and a judge agreed in 2012, making her 23 rather than nine.
The Barnetts then rented an apartment for Natalia Grace and fled to Canada with their three biological sons.
Barnett, in the trailer, is seen warning viewers that they would be getting the 'truth' - but adds that they 'might not like the truth.'
He claimed in the trailer that Natalia Grace is an 'adult sociopath masquerading as a child.'
He is filmed sobbing and punching the floor, shaking with anger, while screaming that they were 'all abused.'
'We were all abused,' he cries. 'I hate this.'
Others in the trailer claim that no one will ever know the truth of the bizarre tale.
Michael and his wife Kristine Barnett adopted Natalia on April 26, 2010, believing they were taking home a six-year-old child.

I can't figure out why Kristine did not call in the morning and take that child to a doctor. Either that is a child in early puberty or an adult.
I suspect the parents are correct, that is an adult and they were conned.
We have found illegals posing has teens in our high schools why not this?

I’ve read several articles on this saga. I too think the family was conned. I believe this “child” in the story is not a young girl, but rather an adult woman.
The dwarf found a new family to swindle. They were all on the Dr Phil show. Honestly that woman looked to be 26 years old and was telling Dr. Phil she was 14.
I say this, send her to a dwarf family and let them decide. She may fool normal folks but her own kind? I’m sure she couldn’t BS them. I’ve seen dwarf couples in the news lately so I’m sure they could tell in time how old she really is.
They should have taken her to Doc - I imagine looking at her teeth, bone structure or something would have provided some proof on an approximate age.
At some point they did take her to a doctor and it was determined that she was much older. That is why they had her birth certificate changed and left her behind when they went to Canada.
They knew she was an adult.
The woman then told the courts she was a child who was left behind by her parents and got them arrested. They have been trying to prove she was not only an adult but psycho.
I tell you what after this no one will want to adopt dwarfs.

She also had a mouth full of adult teeth. I don’t know anything about the adoptive parents but there must be something wrong with them if they didn’t notice something was wrong. It’s a bizarre story that’s for sure. They should send her back to Ukraine. She can become a deadly sniper or she can ride a drone to Moscow.
