Anheuser Busch continues its desperate attempt to recover from the controversial promotion with influencer Dylan Mulvaney, with the company now set to buy back unsold, expired cases as sales continue to dip.
Mulvaney, 26, posted herself drinking Bud Light at the start of April 2023 using the hashtag #budlightpartner. She posted the content to coincide with the NCAA March Madness tournament before joking she didn't know what sport she was promoting.
The disastrous marketing bid has seen sales for the American flagship beer plummet 26 percent, despite Anheuser-Busch reporting first-quarter earnings of $1.65billion and with conservatives everywhere professing to boycott the company.
A new profile of the company's handling of the PR, social media and sales backlash admits the company and CEO Michel Doukeris are now being forced to buy back unsold and expired cases of suds.
Bud Light also plans a branding revamp, aligning Bud Light with the company's sponsorship of a veterans organization.
They also plan to go back on marketing chief Alissa Heinerscheid's plan to update what she called the 'fratty' and 'out of touch' branding by advertising heavily on all-American themes like football and country music, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Industry analysts have warned that unless something drastic changes, the negative volume trends will continue into the summer months as a result of the beer brand's partnership with the transgender influencer.
For the week ending May 6, in-store sales of Bud Light across the US were down 23.6 percent compared to the year before. And the week before that, ending April 29, sales dropped by 23.3 percent.
This follows declines in sales for the week ending April 22, which were at 21.4 percent. And seven days earlier, the dip was 17 percent, according to NielsenIQ data provided to Dailymail.com by Bump Williams Consultancy.

They went woke, so now they’re going broke! They are just reaping what they sowed!
That is not a beer that is an Ipecac!
Once again, incorrect use of language. The consumers were revolted by the partnership. The active doer, the sentient being acting with forethought and intention is not the consumer, but BudLight and its idiot marketing staff.
As a veteran, I can say with some authority that it will not go over well with vets that organizations claiming to represent them will align themselves with BudLight.
👍👍👍👍👍
The bad news for these putzes is the boycott is sticking. Their ex customers have now made multiple purchases of competitor product. Their ex customers have found a similar or better price point and also realize that Clydesdale pi$$ doesn’t really taste that good after all.
It’s dead, Jim
right
how much of a case goes to the veterans?
10 cents?
send the money directly to the organization
This is what happens when you bend to pressure from a government who can and will destroy your life if you don’t comply with their orders to go woke or else.
This is bigger than a mere boycott.
These people are frightened.
The media is doing all that it can to paint us as bigots. Just read the title of this article carefully.
Conclusion....
They went after our children.
They tried a bridge too far.
We can destroy this entire drag queen surgically altered pedophile movement, right here, right now.
They are afraid that if we discovered that we have this power, then we will bring down their whole house of cards.
Let’s give this thing a life of it’s own.
we need a deep dive on esg
who wrote these rules
who is enforcing them
where does it originate
.
It never did.
I discovered that decades ago by trying different brands of beer - some of which actually DO taste good.
Truly radical, eh?
“They went after our children.”
That is it in a nutshell. Two things they should not have f***** with our children and our beer.
They hit two with one queer.
This would be a good marketing research paper. How many weeks til the company realizes a complete product failure?
This AB fiasco nudged customers out of their comfort zone to experience the local breweries that have multiplied recently. “Keep it local” is a good thing.
“Mulvaney, 26, posted herself…” himself, you retard media.
At this point, they dough their own grave. Too little, to late.
