The Missouri ER doctor who mysteriously disappeared last week was found dead from a gunshot wound in an Arkansas lake, authorities confirmed Wednesday — as his brother said the devoted healthcare worker may have been in danger because he had previously been kidnapped.

Dr. John Forsyth’s body was found Tuesday by a kayaker in an Arkansas lake — about an hour south of where he was last seen in Cassville, Missouri — with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Cassville Police Captain James Smith told The Post that the 49-year-old’s body was found in the area of Beaver Lake.

Officials have not shared the location of the wound or whether they believe Forsyth’s death was a suicide.

He had worked there for about a decade and never missed a shift into May 21, 2022.

He was seen leaving the clinic. In the clinic was an RV he stayed in. He was seen there. Sometime later he went to the aquatic Center in the area, where a white SUV was pulled up next to his vehicle.

The next day his vehicle was searched and his passport, keys and wallet were found in it.

I need to go see The Book of Mormon.

Same! Today is Matt Stone's birthday, and apparently the South Park character Kyle's birthday. We are patiently awaiting the opening of Casa Bonita in Denver. Lol

I think he disappeared 3 days before his marriage date. He had texted his fiancee the day of his disappearance saying he would be there soon.

It’s almost always a spouse or close family members.

He had seven kids... yet had just proposed to a fiancee..

So we’re those 7 kids from a previous marriage?

He is an ER doc, so it doesn’t sound like he would be able to raise 7 kids by himself working ER hours....so does that mean their mother has custody?

Did he have to pay child support?

Video surveillance caught the doctor walking to his luxury RV, where he stayed in the hospital parking lot during his shifts.

Just like another TV doctor - on the show Trapper John, M.D.

While that is true, that most are committed by a spouse or other relative - or they hire someone to commit it so they have an alibi handy, but that leaves room for others, self-inflicted, as well as. It may also not be a gunshot wound. He's been in the water, which often times distorts. That's why they couldn't say definitively at the time the article was published. Thus the verbiage; appears to be a gunshot wound; was used.

Watching those shows as I have for years, I've seen all of the above determined as being what happened.

I didn't say it wasn't foul play. I just said it's too early to know what exactly happened, because there are other possibilities. Bad police work involves being focused on one scenario, and ignoring other possible scenarios.

For example, I watched a case the other night that took decades to solve. The police seemed to be focused on the perp being a black man of a rape & murder of a white woman in her home. They had actually talked to the person responsible the very next day, only because he had delivered one of her sons home from football practice.

It was finally solved by a woman who did genealogy checks. The relative was a close match to the white football coach. He had also left a palm print on the window sill he used to enter the house. It was an exact match, so they knew they had the right person. Because not only did his DNA match perfectly, the palm print backed up the DNA test.
