Is patriotism in short supply on Free Republic? I ask as an awful lot of FReepers are vehemently anti-American these days.
Patriotism is a product of learning real American history and civics with comparisons to other nations. When that is done it becomes abundantly apparent that the United States has the best form of government and has the potential to be even better in the future.
Real learning leads to tangible acts of good.

Patriotism, like CRT and racist-philosophy and woke-anything and LGTBQ+-anything, do not belong in a school setting.
Patriotism is the kind of thing learned from family and friends and with general participation in societal norms.
Schools are for learning the academic subjects, including history. History isn’t about patriotism either, but patriotism can be mentioned and learned about, but not taught as a necessary subject.
We must teach civics and patriotism.

Patriotism is alive and well on FR... Any anti American sentiment is based on the direction of the country under the current administration and the way the left wingnuts want this country to go.
If America continues to go down the current path any good conservative be against what it’s becoming.

I’m not sure if it can either when they are working with children whose experience level is almost non-existent concerning today’s world.
The problem is that the children are being coated with mixed information that would confuse anyone. The government through the department of education has made a concerted effort to force schools to follow a curriculum the feds want for many years by threatening withholding funding. What does that teach.
The government doesn’t know how to teach patriotism. And they fail to understand they are teaching all the time wih the decisions they make that are way too many times inconsistent with patriotism. And those decisions are based upon an agenda they create that borders on the edge of anti-American activities and needs. So for every time they might get something right in that topic they take a step back and confuse the students until even their good moments are bleary. Teaching is more than just in school and they want it to be there only. Can’t have it both ways.
