An Infinite Number Of Days To Flatten The CO2 Curve (An official climate emergency lockdown?)
Issues & Insights ^ | 12 Jul, 2023 | I & I Editorial Board

Posted on 07/12/2023 6:05:26 AM PDT by MtnClimber

When three years ago we were told that if we stayed inside for 15 days we could flatten the curve of COVID-19 cases, there was no real effort to respond with civil disobedience. It was a profound mistake, one we paid dearly for and will again, if we don’t stand up to the tyranny.

Yes, we know it was President Donald Trump who issued in March 2020 a set of guidelines that called for 15 days to slow the spread by limiting our travel and staying away from social settings. At the end of March, under more pressure from “experts” he should have fired, he extended the guidelines for another month.

Trump eventually, though tacitly, acknowledged that he made a mistake, when during the summer he said, to great caterwauling from the “closers” on the left, that it was “important for all Americans to recognize that a permanent lockdown is not a viable path forward and would ultimately inflict more harm than it would prevent.”

It was an admission no single Democrat ever made. Indeed, the Democrats wanted the lockdowns to be open-ended. They not only enjoyed taking captive society and commerce in the way that true authoritarians amuse themselves by being in control of others, they took notes so that the next time they will be able to more easily bump restrictions to the next level.

And when might that be? Impossible to say. All we can know is that attempts will be made.

In what other way can we read proposals such as the “climate emergency” initiative referred to by Joseph Goffman, who holds an appointed position at the Environmental Protection Agency? How would the government deal with a climate emergency outside of placing limits on our movements as a free people?

Another sign that we are being softened up to take whatever punishment the political left decides to mete out was last week’s maniacal media coverage of “the hottest day ever.” CNN vomited out nonsense about “record-break global temperatures” that were likely the “highest in ‘at least 100,000 years.’” The Washington Post screeched that “Earth is at its hottest in thousands of years,” and proclaimed that “climate denialism” has been “burnt to a crisp.”

It was all meant to stir up fear and continue the conditioning of the West for the next round of policy shackles.

We regret that it will have its intended effect on many, even though, as our friend Steve Milloy from junkscience.com wrote in the Wall Street Journal, “the notion of ‘average global temperature’ is meaningless.”

“Average global temperature is a concept invented by and for the global-warming hypothesis. It is more a political concept than a scientific one. The Earth and its atmosphere is large and diverse, and no place is meaningfully average,” says Milloy.

He also pointed out the that temperature data “are imprecise,” with an estimated 96% of U.S. temperature stations producing corrupted data, and “about 92% of them reportedly have a margin of error of a full degree Celsius, or nearly 2 degrees Fahrenheit.”

Our suspicions of a future under a climate boot have also been confirmed by other developments, such as: the influential World Economic Forum treating the pandemic lockdowns as a model for climate lockdowns and, according to PJ Media, eliminate private automobile ownership; zero chance of reparations for the hundreds of millions who suffered because of of COVID lockdowns; the Red Cross insisting that the world should respond to climate change with the same urgency it showed in addressing the coronavirus outbreak; Bill Gates ominously saying that “if we learn the lessons of COVID-19, we can approach climate change more informed about the consequences of inaction”; and the almost unthinkable possibility that the pandemic was a manufactured crisis....

I expect that a new pandemic will be the excuse for the next lockdown. But a climate lockdown would sure be attractive to the left.

The “Climate change” movement is an anti-life movement.

Carbon is life on earth.
When a tree photosynthesizes Sunlight and CO2 and water, it creates ‘organic compounds’ (hydrocarbons). Almost all other lift on earth is dependent on this process, and the life energy is transferred, including the animals that eat plants.

When plants and animals die, and decompose, and layer up for long periods and area compressed by geology, they become “fossil fuels”. It’s still life energy. Chemistry is a zero sum game. We are not creating or destroying matter, or energy. The life matter still exists, it’s just that the carbon and oxygen are either mixed or separated depending on the types of reactions that happen to be occuring (life from energy, life storing energy).

To call carbon dioxide a problem is to call earth a problem. To hate life.

The WEF and “climate change” allies continue to plan for totalitarian control, undeterred by episodes of resistance. The idea of climate lockdown is only a matter of time, waiting for the right extreme weather event to trigger a ‘crisis response.” Meanwhile, they are pushing such measures as cutting food production, and something called “15 minute cities.” You will be limited in travel to a 15 minute radius of your home. And not by car.

If this sounds far fetched to anyone, recall how lightly you took the “Green New Deal” when AOC first publicized it back in what— 2018? Laughed about cow farts and all the rest? Five years later most of it is has been incorporated into official policy goals.

The current global average concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is (0.04%) 421 ppm as of May 2022. I think the Climate Cult should be flattened

A declaration that there be a “temporary” halt on global CO2 emissions would destroy the world’s economy, killing millions and causing chaos that make the summer of 2020 look tame.

Here in the blue part of Ohio, I find that many people are irrationally afraid of the coming “climate catastrophe”. The sheep in this part of the world would gleefully submit to a climate emergency lockdown.

The curve can be flattened immensely by the forbidding of Beer, Cokes, Pepsi’s, all wine and alcohol requiring fermentation.

Just the elimination of beer and soft drinks alone will make the most significant curtailment of CO2 emissions in America

The oceans have been warming ever since the world shifted out of the last ice age. Warm water can retain LESS CO2 than cold water. The world’s oceans are literally out-gassing ever increasing amounts of CO2, regardless of what humanity does.

I think the COVID lockdowns were a dry run to see how much people would put up with. Now I think they will be used as a precedent for implementing lockdowns for every orchestrated emergency.

The lockdown served several purposes. 1. It caused multiple small businesses to close and throw people out of work, thus destroying the economy that Donald Trump had built up, which they blamed on him. 2. It conditioned the folks to having their movements restricted, their privacy invaded and their rights taken away. 3. It provided an excuse to develop the app to warn you of infected people nearby, the vaccine “passport”, and the ability to deny entrance to individuals because of their nonconforming status.

It was a dream come true for the democrats. Not only did they get rid of a lot of those pesky mostly White old people, but they got to ratchet fascism up a notch or two.

Exactly. War ing always always always comes first, and only then does co2 rise, proving that co2 is not the driving force of climate change. Co2 lags warming by as much as 800 years as proven by ice core samples.

How,the left have gotten away with their asinine e claims that man is causing climate change is beyond me.

/\

I am STILL seeing folk driving alone with a mask

and minors walking down empty sidewalks with no one else within a 100 yards wearing a mask.

The Pavlov conditioning has done it’s job on way too many .

Sad.

3 years?

AOC’s clock give us just over 7 years.

Dang. Another end-of-the-world. At 75, I think I have lived through at least 8 or 12 and that doesn’t include eotw’s that preachers have claimed would happen [but didn’t].

Nope!

They’re not taking my beer! I’ll illegally make my own, if they did that. I have lots of land and can grow hops and barley.

Also, diet coke. I need that. But I can’t make it...
