...Buddy who drove and used State ID drove us back, we go into the Officer of the Day's office to report my lost/stolen ID. OOD is a crusty old bastard, but fair. Actually a mustang, he takes his orders from the President and god... and we are not sure of the president he might tell him to f**k off if it is a stupid idea.
..."Seaman Raccoon here says the doorman at Joe's took his ID and wants $20. Pull a driver and one of those Jarheads at the gate and go down their and sort it out."

Good story.
As a Salty Dog the moral of that story is; “Never screw with an Young Enlisted Sailor unless you have Bars(allot of times even that isn’t enough) as LDO’s and CPO’s aren’ to meant to be f’ed with.
It’s not midnight yet. So more posts are sure to come in.
However, I’m confident that this story will be the feel-good post of the day.
I pulled the ol ‘turn it over and read to me what it says on the back’ routine and asked the manager if he was authorized to hold said property of the federal government. I offered to call the state troopers so they could check, but he opted to give me my id back.
Great story! I’ve had similar things happen in my career...
I Liked the story, but my experience was different.
I was in Key West on a sub and was mugged on my way back to the base in front of the marine guards. My watch was stolen and as I was pushed to the ground my uniform was messed. When I approached the gate I asked why you did not help me and the response was that I was not on military ground and my uniform was messed. I FU them and went to the barracks where I was subsequently arrested. Fortunately, I had a very good reputation on the sub as I was proficient at fixing both sonar and ET stuff.
At the Hearing on the sub, which the captain demanded be held on the sub, I was told to be good for two weeks and not swear at marines any more!
The marines wanted to inprison me. They were pissed.Thank god for the captain.
Don’t F with a Navy Chief. My dad was a Leading Chief in an A-6 Squadron. Was at a reunion for his squadron a few years ago, and a retired Chief told me about a junior officer who was dressed down by dad. This Chief told the junior officer that it would be smart to heed the advice given because the CO has his back.
