Massachusetts National Guard deployed to assist with spiraling migrant crisis as governor calls on White House

Massachusetts National Guard members were officially deployed as "rapid response teams" Wednesday to assist with the state's bursting migrant shelters, as pressure mounts for President Biden to address the crisis in the state.

The move to deploy 250 members comes as Democrat Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency several weeks ago because of the strain on the shelter system.

"Massachusetts is in a state of emergency, and we need all hands-on deck to meet this moment and ensure families have access to safe shelter and basic services," Healy said in a statement.

Currently, more than 6,000 migrant families are in emergency shelters across the state. Massachusetts is a right to shelter state, and must provide emergency housing to families in need.

National Guard members were sent Wednesday to 40 hotels and motels that don't have service providers. Healey said they'll coordinate access to meals, medical care and transportation.

"The plan that we have in place today with the deployment of the National Guard, which happened just last month, will put National Guard staff, soldiers, in locations as part of a response to our non-service providers, essentially creating rapid response teams in places that we don’t have the ground service contractors or case management services happening on a regular basis," Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll said Tuesday.

According to WFXT Boston 25 News, Driscoll told the Local Government Advisory Commission that between 20 and 35 families seek shelter each day in Massachusetts, occasionally swelling as high as 55 families, which "creates an immediate need to try and find spaces."

"All of our typical emergency shelter sites were filled a month ago," Driscoll told Boston 25 News. "That means we’re filling in trying to find locations."

Horizontal, the border czar, says illegal aliens arrived because of a climate crisis. At least that's over with. From what I hear, Martha's Vineyard still has plenty of room. And those folks are loaded.

They are not migrants they are illegals ,lets call a spade a spade. Gather them up and take them back where they came from. I don’t want to pay for these people that destroy everything around us. It doesn’t matter how much you do for them , they will continue to be the load on society ,forever and ever !!

as pressure mounts for President Biden to address the crisis in the state.

Rather than address the invasion state by state after the fact, perhaps the thing to do is to close the southern border. And I mean close, as in prevent further crossings - then begin working on deportations.

Makes sense to me - but what do I know?

Agreed, this is not at all like when, as depicted in the Godfather II with a very young Vito Corleone, people came to the United States to honestly build a new life for themselves. They’re here for a free lunch basically.

Migrants apply, with paperwork to come here. Illegal aliens just cross the boarder, like an invading army.

These are illiterate people, people so illiterate they can't even speak Spanish but instead use some primitive Mayan jungle language. These parasites can neither read nor write and have no skills other than primitive agricultural skills like digging a hole or pulling weeds. They won't find that work in New England with its short growing season and its relentless drive to an "app based" economy.

Move these people to the urban ghettos and settle them into abandoned and burned out houses to live in, Zhivago style. Cover the broken windows with chicken wire, and issue them a "snuggy as seen on TV" to keep warm. Wash them down with sheep dip, and require them to wear flea and tick collars.

Texas Governor Abbott, Florida Governor DeSantis and even former Arizona Governor Ducy deserve a lot of credit for making the border crisis into national problem, thus drawing lots of media and political attention to the crisis.

Thank You Governors, thank you a lot.

I would send them all to Washington District of Congo and then drop a nuke from orbit, just to be sure.

It would be a win win, for the planet and America. /spit

“Massachusetts is in a state of emergency, and we need all hands-on deck to meet this moment and ensure families have access to safe shelter and basic services,” Healy said in a statement.

Notice, the emergency is not declared to protect American citzens, but to protect the wellbeing of the illegal invaders. This country is in trouble, in a large part, due to the utter stupidity of its leaders.
