It seems like San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has already found a new job in the offseason.
Fans need not be concerned -- Purdy's contract runs through next year -- but he is trading his uniform for a vest and a plaid long sleeve shirt for his new gig.
Purdy was spotted on a commercial shoot in San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood Thursday morning alongside 49ers offensive tackle Colton McKivitz. A massive John Deere tractor was unloaded off a flatbed truck and parked steps away from Bernal Heights Park, the cityscape in the background.
Crewmembers told a member of the KPIX team that the shoot was for a digital commercial for John Deere that is set to debut on social media in the next couple of weeks.
Purdy appeared in an Instagram video late last year on fiancée Jenna Brandt's family farm operating a John Deere combine. Brandt captioned the video "Wrapping up harvest '23."
In addition to the latest commercial for John Deere, Purdy appears to have inked a number of sponsorships in recent months, including with Toyota. Purdy also appeared in an Alaska Airlines ad.
Exactly. Something about John Deere and San Francisco just doesn’t compute.
He’s from Arizona went to college in Iowa................
Purdy is from Arizona, but he has worked on his soon-to-be-wife’s family’s farm in Iowa, so he legit cab drive a tractor.
Had the opportunity to see SF in 1986.
While it was certainly a beautiful city, even back then it was a freak show people wise and I could see what was probably gonna happen......and sure enough.
A damn shame to be sure.
I swear, democrats could break an anvil. SMH
And at least one 40ers reporter bashed him for it. Meanwhile other players are in Cabo with models on their bye week.
“ went to college in Iowa...............”
NO.
He went to IOWA STATE.
Iowa is the heathen school on the eastern side of Iowa.
That’s from the John Deere corporate website.
The times, they are a-changin’...
I like Purdy but I wouldn’t view him as knowledgeable about tractors.
I shared an apartment in Cow Hollow (tucked between Union Street and Lombard Street close to the Marina Green) back in 1973-1974. I loved living in the city, but I wasn’t there that much as I was out doing field engineering work in power plants all over the west. It was clean, easy to get around, safe, and VERY expensive even then. You quickly learned which areas to avoid (the “Western Addition” and the “Tenerloin” being at the top of the list).
I had never known a flaming gay guy before showing up for my first day of work in SF and learning that my boss’ male secretary was one. But Tom was a really nice guy and good at his job, so it didn’t matter. It was sure a shocker, though, to this kid from NYS and Missouri!
Yes, they are, I shouldn’t have been surprised by this.
NFL players must be underpaid. So many of them have to act in commercials in order to make ends meet.
He said he went to school in Iowa, not at Iowa.
I thought more turned to crime for extra money instead of commercials.
Heathen?...............🤣😂🤣😂.....................
Yeah I was warned before I went but it still didn’t fully describe the level of lunatic deviant behavior I witnessed.
And that was just a day trip. Lol!
But some NFL players are fiscally responsible. I remember reading that former player Marshawn Lynch put 100% of the money he earned from football into savings. And only lived off his endorsement money. Smart.
I also read Chad Johnson lived in the stadium for his first three years in the NFL, so he didn't have to pay rent. (I am not sure he was allowed to do that, but it worked)
So, not all players are profligate.
I like Mahomes but I wouldn’t view him as knowledgeable about dandruff shampoo or Auto Insurance............
