They keep tightening the screws. The bureaucrats, that is. They just can’t help it.

The Department for Transport initially said the decision was made to stop fishermen risking their own lives at work.

Commercial fishing is a pretty risky occupation for skinny fisherman too. According to OSHA the most dangerous in the US, can't imagine the UK is any different

Can anyone show me where in the Constitution there is an enumerated power for the Congress or Executive to implement BMI limits on private employers?

I will scream if you say The Commerce Clause.

>>But after criticism from the industry, the rules will now only apply to larger boats which are bigger than 10 meters long.

The headline is misleading. They didn’t revoke the rule for everyone, just for really tiny fishing boats.

Unelected bureaucrats, seemingly everywhere, as the busybodies of politics just cannot leave people alone. How irritating. It’s a full-time job just minding my own business and myself; I truly don’t understand the clearly uncontrollable compulsion to control other people.

You must have read the entire article because the excerpt doesn’t explain that.

As this happened in the UK, you'd have to look at the Magna Carta, or whatever document they use these days.

Thanks for the conversion! I thought the Brits went metric a long time ago. Is there a stone somewhere that they keep as a national standard??

Didn't notice that. Ironic, didn't they hear Hank Johnson's warning that too many Marines would tip Guam over? The should ban the fat fisherman from small boats if at all.
