Not terribly low carb, but good.

Each slice has ~4g fiber for 10-12 net carbs per slice.

An Atkins update bump! Hope all are doing well, I would not mind some input and update!
I wish I could tell you that I was 100% but no. The most shameful part is that I didnt fall by eating a hot fudge sundae but (are you sitting down) it was a bowl of Navy bean soup!! Holy Smokes!
Well it is your turn! how's it going?
I back on track.

I've been sticking to the diet pretty much. Can't say I've lost any weight, but my clothes feel looser...and I feel better!

Carbolite chocolate bars - WalMart 96 cents each...YUM!

Also at Wal-Mart for the same price: Delite Low-Carb Chocolate Bars. The best in the world! You will take one bite and quickly grab the wrapper to make sure there really isn't any sugar. They're over 2 bucks a piece everywhere else.

Note: They are not for the induction phase.

I'm new here and interested in getting started on Atkins. The Candida is probably legitimate. I can give you my sister's story. I made a reference to it on another thread last night. Candida plays a very important role in other disease. My sister was going down hill, fast. In desperation, I went to the Internet to try to find answers. Drugs were killing her. Found a condition called leaky gut syndrome. It was a chiropractic internist who finally restored my sister to health. It wasn't easy and it wasn't fast but yeasts were just one part of it.

My sister is now off all medication except for a thyroid medication. She probably also weighs 50 pounds less now. Her chiropractic internist does lots of blood work and other tests. It wasn't hocus pocus. You have to get rid of sugar.

Heya, sorry I haven't been very active on the thread. Hope you're hanging in there and doing well. I promised recipes on another thread, so here's a couple:

Survival Cookies

2 sticks butter
10 pkts sugar substitute (2/3 to 3/4 c Splenda)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla (I usually add more)
1/2 c super-duperly finely chopped pecans
1 c Atkins bake mix or "natural" flavored protein powder

Mix together ingredients. Drop by generous teaspoon-fuls on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 approx 10 min or until starting to brown. Given approx 26 cookies, they net approx 1.5 carbs each.

Cookies are somewhat puffy but melt in the mouth. Increasing the butter a bit will cause them to spread out more during cooking. Be cautious about the protein powder, especially if it's soy. I had kind of a bad experience hormone-wise due to eating so much of it and have since discovered some research detailing effects on hormones, thyroid function, and vitamin absorbtion. Just so you know.

Mock Potatoes

Boil desired servings of cauliflower until soft. Drain. Mash or food process until smooth like mashed potatos. Add heavy cream, butter, and pepper to taste. Be generous with the butter and pepper.

You may have run across this recipe various LC websites, I absolutely love it. I almost fooled my husband, fortunately he loves cauliflower, too. :)

Mock Hash Brown

I don't have good measurements for this because each zuchinni is a different size. I use the 'till it looks right' approach to it.

Peel and grate large zuchinni. Sprinkle with salt and allow to drain at room temperature in a collander for several hours.

Mix with one egg, pepper, and chopped onion.

In a non-stick pan, heat a small amount of olive oil or lard. Form and fry small, thin zuchinni mixture patties. Cook until golden brown. Very good with ketchup.

Those recipes sound great! I have copied and placed them in my recipe file. I am collecting recipes that I can use for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those mock mashed potatoes sound like they will fit the bill. Those 2 days will be my make or break days. Thank you. :)

Ping me, please. Put me down as having been on Atkins a year, with slow and steady success. Have even conquered Maintenance, which turned out to be harder than losing the weight.

Morning.

I'm off to see my doctor soon. She's a great gal and smart- educated at Johns Hopkins, but she's anti-Atkins. So 'diet' discussions with her require a few carefully chosen euphemisms. They're handy in ordinary workplace conversations, too. I learned the hard way that folks react with more emotion and hostility when discussing food than religion or politics! No one wants to hear from someone else, either directly or by insinuation, that the low-fat diet dictocrats are wrong and that the agony of living that way is for naught.

So, some polite euphemisms for low-carb eating:
