In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I don't think that the ePISScopal high council (or whatever lofty title they use) has voted yet on whether to ordain the openly (practicing) gay man as a bishop. The issue threatens to divide the church.

Frankly, those that cannot comprehend the Word from which they should be teaching deserve to be culled out.

Morning!

Ms. Van de Putte failed to elucidate
Her reasons for fleeing to escape her fate.
By casting aspersions on Dewhurst's mind
She appears as childish as she is unkind.
If she'd eat less cake and more fish and greens
She might look as good as Dewhurst in jeans...

So i presume that the Episcopals do not see an express prohibition on Homosexuality in the Bible. that part not in their's?

They're supposed to vote on it today. How was the reunion? Did you knock 'em out?

The latest news is that the deputies(a group which should include Fife and his bullet, judging by their actions) has approved his election as a bishop and now it goes to the floor to be voted on by the entire group. I know that our bishop is strongly opposed and plans to vote NO!

Annd along those lines, The Catholic Church is getting around to telling those that claim it's constituency that God is Taking Notes.......No Wonder Kerry has such a Long face.

An excerpt..."The Vatican injected itself into the simmering gay marriage debate Thursday, firing off a letter issuing instructions to Catholic politicians to oppose any legalization efforts. ``The Catholic lawmaker has a moral duty to express his opposition (to gay marriage laws) clearly and publ icly and to vote against it,'' the directive read. ``To vote in favor of a law so harmful to the common good is gravely immoral.''"

They have a very loose interpretation of Leviticus in which the same term used to describe homosexuality is also used to describe the consumption of shellfish.

Sodomy=shrimp cocktail, not so bad, huh?

well let's see.... i looked pretty good in comparison. there was one hottie there, that i pointed out to xshub.he didn't recognize her. she had on skin tight white capris with an obvious thong and some CFM pumps. i was a bit more conservatively attired.

HOWEVER, i did end up spraying a couple that we were talking to, with red wine, when i dropped my cup (plastic cups, it was not a high class affair...) i felt bad, but what the heck could i do? i guess i didn't make things much better, when, as we continued talking to them, and it became apparent that she is a lib, that i started getting a bit pointed in my remarks... hey, i'll never see these people again, and i dind't humiliate xshub too much. he did rag on me about it the rest of the weekend, and the kids accused me of attempting to start a food fight... it was pretty funny. OH and the Muffster didn't show.

Good Morning Rika: Went shopping over the weekend; took advantage of "Tax Free Weekend".

This may be an elucidation, but if Lt. Governor Dewhurst wants a political future, he will not give in to the eleven Texas chickens hiding in New Mexico.

The following instructions should elucidate the mechanics of the golf swing.

Everyone can learn to play golf! Once a player has mastered the grip and stance, all he has to bear in mind, in the brief two-second interval it takes to swing, is to keep his left elbow pointed in toward the left hip and his right arm loose and closer to the body than the left; and take the clubhead past his right knee; and then break the wrists at just the right instant while the left arm is still traveling straight back from the ball and the right arm stays glued to the body; and the hips come around in a perfect circle; and meanwhile it is critical that the weight is 60 percent on the left foot and 40 percent on the right -- not an ounce more or less -- and at just the right point in the turn the left knee bends in toward the right in a dragging motion until the left heel comes off the ground (but not too far); and be sure the hands are over the right foot (but not on the toe more than the heel) except that the left side of the right foot is tilted off the ground (but not too far); and be sure the hands at the top of the swing are high and the shaft points along a line parallel with the ground (and if its a downhill lie the shaft is supposed to be pointed downhill too); and pause at the top of the swing and count one, jerk the left arm straight down like a bell ringer yanking a belfry rope; and don't uncock the wrists too soon and pull the left hip around in a circle; but don't let the shoulders turn with the hips, they have to be facing the hole; and now transfer the weight 60 percent to the left foot and 40 percent to the right --not an ounce more or less -- and tilt the left foot now so the right side of it is straight (that's the one you hit against); watch out for the left hand, it's supposed to be extended (but not too stiff or the shot won't go anywhere); and don't let it get loose or you will hook; and let the wrists uncock (but don't force them or you'll smother the shot); and don't break too soon but keep your head down; then hit the ball! THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT!!

Here are a few stories that might be of interest to the golf fans out there, but they are not particularly elucidative:
