Reaching Out to El Rushbo (Attacks on Huck driving voters to Fred, not Mitt)
Holy Coast ^ | December 23, 2007

Posted on 12/22/2007 10:04:13 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Somebody in the Huckabee camp made the mistake of insulting the leader of the conservative movement in the U.S., Rush Limbaugh. Rush responded on Friday's show and basically ripped the Huckabee camp a well-deserved new one. Whoever made the original comments clearly has not been paying attention.

Some are questioning whether the Huckabee campaign can survive the shellacking it got on Friday's program. Huckabee is trying to stop the bleeding:

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The best-talking Republican politician in America has a message for the best-talking conservative voice in the country: Let's talk to one another.

Mike Huckabee, taking questions from reporters after a town hall meeting here, responded to the torrent of criticism that Rush Limbaugh unleashed during his broadcast yesterday by turning the other cheek — and then heaping on the praise.

"I love Rush Limbaugh; I've always loved his show," Huckabee assured. "I think he’s been great for the conservative movement."

The former Arkansas governor conceded that he hadn't sought Limbaugh out to set the record straight — but that he would like to.

"I don’t have his number," Huckabee explained. "If you have it, Jonathan, why don’t you give it to me. I’d love to talk to him."

Governor, here's the info you're looking for: 1-800-282-2882 or elrushbo@eibnet.com

I'm starting to see signs that the attacks on Huckabee by Romney are actually driving some voters to Fred Thompson and not to Romney has he had intended. Rush was very complimentary about Romney's "Mormon" speech, but he hasn't shown a lot of enthusiasm for him otherwise. I wonder if Rush's blast at Huckabee might drive more conservatives to consider Thompson again.

I know I am. Especially after this and this. Patrick Ruffini says Thompson is hitting Iowa hard - no more Lazy Fred. I no longer think a Thompson win in Iowa is out of the question, no matter what the polls show right now. Let's not forget that in 2004 the polls had Howard Dean the clear leader and he came in third.

Huck peaked to early. Look for a Fred movement below the radar.

Caught Limbaugh`s attack against the Huckster on Friday. It was classic Rush. Whether it will change voters minds is unknown.

GO FRED GO!!!

If this was actually the fault of Ed Rollins it counts as a world class screw-up for someone so politically savvy. So depending on where one's passions are, Rollins should resign, or to others, GO ED GO! Keep tripping up Hucklebee

Rollins worked for Perot. Rush was very adamant about exposing Perot. It figures Rollins wouldn't like Rush and be ready to try to trash him. Bad idea. But then Huckabee is a bad idea too.

I was pretty amazed he said it. I only accidentally caught it, since I was doing errands and I had to sit in my car in the Ace Hardware parking lot to catch the whole thing!

What did Rush say on Friday about Thompson? I only caught the previous statement about Fred being the only conservative in the top tier by accident - and it surprised me he’d go that far. (Of course, right afterwards he said he didn’t endorse any candidates during the primaries. But I considered what he said to be very close to one!)

Rollins is crap. He had it made and went off the reservation in Conservative and Republican circles with his Perot stunt. Political whore is the best description for that mess. Did more to help reelect Clinton than Carville and Begala combined.

Seems he wants to help team Clinton again.

Either Huck is part of it, or just an idiot.

Truth is, it's a tough call...

LOL! Harry 'Dingy' Reid tangled personally with Rush and got his ass handed to him to the tune of over $4 Million. Huckabee needs to take his msm beer goggles off and smell the conservative coffee.

Ed Rollins, like Fred Barnes, is living in a world that does not, in fact, exist.

Comparing Huckabee to Reagan, mistake # 1, Comparing Rush to D.C. elites, mistake # 2...

Here’s hoping his strike # 3 comes ASAP :)

I'm no eggspurt but Jan 4th will bear out this prediction either way.

Don't the results usually not come out for a few days after the caucus? We might be waiting a bit longer.

I wondered aloud to someone, right after Rollins made his comments about Rush, if Rollins might have volunteered his services to Huckabee in order to derail his momentum, because it is mind boggling that a Republican would think they could make that kind of personal attack against Rush without repercussions.

Democratic Governor Endorses Mike Huckabee

Instead we have conservatives lining up behind Mike Huckabee because he agrees with them on two issues - gay marriage and abortion - neither of which the president can do much about. And all the while they ignore his liberal history as governor of Arkansas. If Huckabee is a real conservative, explain this: Since he's running in the Republican primaries for president, don't expect Mike Huckabee to be advertising the strong endorsement he just got from Ted Strickland, Ohio's Democratic governor.

It seems Mr. Strickland, who typically racked up a 95% rating from the liberal Americans for Democratic Action during his 16 years in Congress, has discovered a kindred spirit in Mr. Huckabee. He told the Cincinnati Enquirer last Sunday that Mr. Huckabee is a "combination of conservative views in some ways, but very, almost liberal views in other ways." Mr. Strickland concluded: "Of all the Republican candidates, Mr. Huckabee would be my personal choice."

NOW,,, THERE SHOULD BE NOT DOUBT IN YOUR MIND....HUCKABEE IS LOVED BY DEMOCRATS.

God save us if he is actually nominated by the Republican party, or should I say "former" Republican party ..if that actually occurs.

YOUR CHOICE                           This                         OR                                   This.

NEITHER IS A PRETTY PICTURE

Giuliani  = Liberal

Has our Party gone the way of the dinosaurs?
Have we lost our values?

If we elect a man who supports gay rights and is pro-choice, we can no longer call ourselves conservative.  Have we sunk so low that we would elect a person who dresses in drag?  Marches in gay pride parades?   Giuliani is a liberal running as a conservative.  He's pro-amnesty, pro-gun control, and pro-gay.  He is intelligent and has governed New York City successfully, BUT he is not a true conservative by any measure.  Conservatives wake up?
God help us if we elect a liberal
.

MINUTE MEN of America

NRA of America

We want to know.....what the hell are you waiting for?

Your endorsements could make the difference in the upcoming elections.  If you haven't noticed, you have the perfect candidate in the race.  The future of stopping illegal immigration and the individuals right to bear arms are at stake.  Failure to give your support to the right person could cost all freedom loving Americans dearly.  Your members want you to endorse a person that will stop illegal immigration and secure our rights to bear arms.  A true conservative is the only choice, no liberal republicans or democrats need apply.

Everyone needs to call NRA headquarters / Minute Men headquarters today and voice our opinions.  I have.

"When I am president, I will build a fence."

"My idea of gun control is a good, steady aim."
