It is certainly not breaking news that Sarah Palin is the darling of the most extreme fringe of the Republican Party, but here's yet another data point on it: she's by far the most popular potential 2012 candidate with voters who disapprove of Barack Obama and already want to impeach him.
86% of voters who fit that description have a favorable opinion of Palin to 62% for Mike Huckabee and 49% for Mitt Romney.
That's a much wider popularity gap than exists among all Republicans, 73% of whom view Palin favorably to 57% for Huckabee and 51% for Romney.
By comparison, among Republicans who don't want to impeach Obama yet just 62% have a favorable opinion of Palin compared to 54% for Romney and 51% for Huckabee.
Romney is more popular with the reasonable wing of the Republican Party than the lunatic fringe, which probably hurts his chances at the 2012 nomination. Palin on the other hand is the most popular candidate at this point with both, but is considerably better liked by the crazies who already support impeaching Obama for...what I'm not sure.
If the 2012 GOP nomination fight ultimately turns into a two way race between Palin and Romney it will certainly be a fascinating referendum on the future of the party.
“Sarah Palin is the darling of the most extreme fringe of the Republican Party:
If 73% of Republicans support Sarah Palin, how come she is described as the “darling of the MOST EXTREME FRINGE of the Republican Party?
How do they determine who is “extreme fringe”?
Is it a meter they measure in standard fringe units?
More spewed bile from the Palin Tourette’s crowd.
In this poll, “extreme fringe” means those who already want to impeach Obama.
As the extent of the new taxes, regulations, government intrusion becomes clearer to the general population, certainly they will express a solution such as Obama impeachment in response to poll questions. I suspect that the majority of those responding that way know that the likelihood of that actually happening are slim and are just expressing their frustration.
I guess those of use that hate communism, socialism, fascism, and liberalism and love our free America and our Constitutio n -—— are the RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS!!!!
By the way, I guess Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Franklin, et al, were all RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS too....
Public Policy Polling is a Dem Pollster. The firm does stupid push polls to make conservatives look foolish.
Last week, they did a poll of Evangelicals in South Carolina. A plurality did not want Sanford impeached. The pollster commented on how Evangelicals lacked the moral authority to speak about anything.
If I were a lib I’d be more concerned about MY future. Keep your head in the sand, chump.
I think DeMint is gearing up for a run...
EFFFFFFFFFFF YOU NUMBNUTS!!!!
there....I affirmed what you think of me....and I could give a rats @$$ what you think of me and other patriotic Americans......
Here's a pic of Mitt and "the reasonable wing" together on prom night ...
LLS
That’s all they have any more, calling Palin, and by implication all of us, stupid.
Last I checked I could tie my shoes just fine. In fact, I’m relatively successful and don’t slobber my pea soup.
At some point their story doesn’t compute.
Actually, libs only have to worry about their own personal futures if THEIR people stay in power.
If the libs are thrown out of power and this ship is righted, they have really nothing, personally, to fear,
except maybe having to take responsibility for their own lives.
However, if they continue with their liberty stealing policies at the point of a federal gun, they might see that “we the people” have something to say about that.
Romney is more popular with the reasonable wing of the Republican Party
Just like the really popular reasonable wing candidate McCain. Don’t you love how libs promote their favorite token Republicans. They always choose the RINO from hard blue states. Wonder why?
The PDS crowd badly wants us to appoint Mike Huckabee as the next GOP candidate. They are willing to settle for Mitt Romney, loyal placeholder for the Bush family. But no way do they want Sarah Palin.
“the most extreme fringe of the Republican Party,”
The Democrats don’t have anything except an extreme fringe, which is evidenced by the policies their representatives are pursuing in Washington.
Bunch of leftist nebbishes who think we’re still living in the 1970’s, when they told themselves they were “relevant”.
