I think you’ve confused me for one of the Two-Percenters.
I’m more interested in actually booting 0bama out of office, which means nominating someone who can actually beat him.
I’ll figure out who that person is next year when we actually have some announced candidates. I can assure you, however, it won’t be Hunter or McPalin.

Yep and clean house there too. Sarah is the leader that can reshape the RNC.

You’re safe on Hunter, and also on this McPalin person, since there’s nobody by *that* name. Got any other silly pronouncements?

“Yes, Palin is a Republican and if she runs, it should be as a Republican and not a 3rd-party candidate. But she shouldn’t help the RNC.”

.
From a purely emotional standpoint, I agree, but from a logical standpoint I see that she has no choice. To do otherwise would be a literal declaration of war against the very party under whose banner she will be running for president. Damned if you do; damned if you don’t.

( but those “surveys” are a joke for sure. I throw them in the garbage)

Palin has attached her name to a letter and survey being mailed to RNC donors soliciting contributions for the committee's Victory 2010 program, a nationwide get-out-the-vote effort.

Being that the RNC has been on the wrong side of just about every primary election campaign so far, it doesn't surprise me that the one who anointed one of the most progressive Republicans is now signing onto their campaign mail. What was the Tea Party thing all about? I thought it was to say enough's enough with the establishment in both parties. I guess Palin was just along for the attention. Another loss of cool points in my book.

Weren’t you pissed at Sarah because she got involved in NY23 for Hoffman and helped reveal Scozzafava for what she really was?

You're exactly right; you don't have to be in bed with the RNC to be a Republican. That's why I support the Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC.org).

There's a high-level political chess match going on here. Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie and the good ol' boys have formed a fundraising operation outside the RNC to suck up money for the establishment and force Steele out.

Sarah Palin is coming to the RNC's aid. The RNC needs money for poll-watching, etc. I'm sure Palin is collecting a big chit for this. Michael Steele was on Hannity's radio show yesterday and Hannity was talking about something Sarah said in her TV interview...Steele wouldn't even let Hannity finish his comment. He interrupted and started praising her.

This game is for keeps.

And people think she is dumb. She’s playing a big game.

This is what everybody was saying, over-and-over, about Bush and his stupid political moves. It turns that he was just dumb.

Perhaps he was dumb, but he was a two-term president. How many “smart” people can say that?

Bush had the best of intentions, he made many mistakes. But he was never the train wreck that a rat president usually is.

This group that Rove and Gillespie are forming looks like another damn political party:
"This new Republican-friendly group, on the other hand, appears to be an umbrella group for five separate right-leaning organizations: American Crossroads (voter mobilization); American Action Network (polling and advertising); American Action Forum (policy); Resurgent Republic (polling); and the Republican State Leadership Committee (an association representing state officers such as secretaries of state)."

Interesting that you should mention the Rove-Gillespie cabal. I was just reading about it. *wink*

Sarah is genuine and she’s a much smarter gal and politician than her doubters will ever want to credit her and I pray they continue to ‘misunderestimate’ her.

You're exactly right. However, I blame Bush, McCain, the RNC, et al for our having Obama. To this day I cringe everytime I hear, "Even Bush was for bailing out...." or, "Even McCain is for....." or, "Republicans spent like drunken sailors under Bush...." Bush, McCain, and the establishment Republicans (such as those the RNC continually support) have ruined all of our moral arguments due to the way they behaved - and still would behave if it weren't for the Tea Parties. Now Palin, who was once somebody I totally respected, has sold out to McCain and the RNC.

McPalin waited until Hoffman had the momentum in the final heat of the campaign to endorse him. And that is probably what put 0wens over the top. Nothing brings Democrats out to vote like McPalin.

If she really wanted to help, she would have endorsed Hoffman 6 months earlier and then kept her head down, her mouth closed, and her nose out of the race.

You approve of McPalin doing her all to save Steele’s hide?
And for McCain, too, I suppose?

I don’t think it looks like a separate party. More like a branch to help and strengthen the GOP, with a goal to take power from the RNC which has failed miserably in several contests, although it’s worked successfully without fanfare behind the scenes.

The RNC needs a new board. Also, people need to remember that national parties have the duty to endorse and support incumbents, and until that changes, a lot of us are always going to be unhappy.

I wish we could go back in time and change things, but what’s done is done. The best thing we can do is to get rid of career politicians in the GOP and move on. If we keep beating ourselves with what Republicans did in the past we will continue to have rat majorities everywhere. Let’s first retake Congress, state Legislatures, etc. The biggest threat is continued rat dominance.

We must continue to argue about what has happened, so that we don’t do it again. But we must be in a position to affect change.

From the letter, I understand it is meant to raise money to support Republican candidates at all levels, including state Legislature and other local offices. This, to me, is important. Instead of just focusing on a top-down approach, we must also focus on bottom-up.
