Sarah Palin, president of West Virginia
The Charleston Daily Mail ^ | November 11, 2010 | Don Surber

From Public Policy Polling: 56% of West Virginians say they will vote for the Republican over Obama in 2 years — 34% are for Obama.

That’s a reversal of the 59% Democrat/34% Republican registration in the state.

Among Republican candidates the preferences are:

Sarah Palin 25%

Mike Huckabee 22%

Mitt Romney 15%

Newt Gingrich 15%

Everyone else is under 2%

Count me in the 23% who said someone other than those 4 or is undecided.

By the way, 37% of Democrats say they will vote for the Republican in 2012.

It won't be long before most states look like this, at the rate Mr. Obama is going. Remember, PPP is a Democratic polling company!!

West Virginia was in a lot of ways the first Alaska.

It wouldn’t hurt most Americans to read the Foxfire series...

I don’t see that happening. He couldn’t even beat an underfunded McCain in 2008. Despite my distaste for Romney in 2012 for the top of the ticket, he wouldn’t be a bad VP pick. He brings some serious economic ‘gravitas’. In addition to his many policy flaws, he is just too damaged to run against Obama on repealing Obamacare.

Yeah, it is. My ancestors first settled in what is now West Virginia in the 1760s when it was really wild.

...and the first ever WV GOP Presidential Convention on Super Tuesday 2008 (where 2/3 of the WV delegates to the national convention were committed to the Huckster) was the reason why. That was decided by 1PM eastern after the second vote. For the rest of the day the media blasted "Romney Loses WV" until the last polls closed. The first vote had McNut trailing well behind Romney with Huck a close third and Paul last. But the Mitten hadn't received the required % of votes necessary for the win. On the second vote, Paul was dropped and the McNut camp shifted to Huck to give him the win. McNut lost WV but won Super Tuesday.

Sorry, but his ObamaCare coupled with his support for all the bailouts puts the myth that he is some type of financial wizard to bed.

He screwed up his own state putting it in the red with his ObamaCare, I really don't want such an idiot in a position of screwing up the national economy.

The people that settled it were once the most fiercely independent in the new nation. Some have maintained their self-sufficient mountain ways to this day.

Some have gone dependent on the government.

The current government would take the mining jobs and all that flows from that and make all of Appalachia dependent.

I really hope Huckabee doesn’t play the spoiler again.

Huck will certainly play the spoiler, if it comes to that.

He is a passive-aggressive...very unseemly in a man.

Roses of sharon is right, Huckabee will be a big spoiler in favor of the anti-Palin candidate. There’s going to be Palin and an anti-Palin candidate the establishment coalesces on. Huckabee is a gifted speaker and has a genial personality, he shouldn’t be underestimated with the damage he will do as he did in 2008.

The ONLY spoiler and backstabber has been ... Romney.

Huckabee was NOT behind Parker, or Rove, or Wallace,
or the rest that attacked Gov. Palin and her children
on the eve of Election 2008.

Team Romney are backstabbing cowards.
