Sarah Palin has deliberately left the question as to whether or not she will run in 2012 open. For those who believe a bid for the GOP nomination is still a possibility for her, The Arizona Republic provides some further evidence: after months of rumors, Palin may have purchased a house in Scotsdale, Arizona.
A deal on a secluded, 8,000-square-foot home in far north Scottsdale was recently closed by Safari Investments LLC for $1.695 million cash. The terms of the deal hide the identity of the owner, and when the attorney listed on the property records, Alan Kierman, was asked if Palin was the buyer, his response was an intriguing "no comment."
According to the Republic, Palin has been rumored to be considering headquartering her 2012 White House campaign in Scottsdale, if there is a campaign. A anonymous source from her camp also told Ben Smith at Politico that she would base a potential presidential campaign in Scottsdale, near where Bristol Palin recently bought a house in Maricopa. Palin has also been mentioned as a possible candidate for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jon Kyl.
But there are many reasons why Palin might leave Alaska that have nothing to do with a bid for 2012 or a run for a seat in the Senate. Joshua Green described in The Atlantic that Palin's popularity in her home state is rapidly dwindling. A rumored Democratic poll showed her to be less popular in Alaska right now than Barack Obama. Green writes that though Palin, "still lives in Alaska, she has all but withdrawn from its public life, appearing only seldom and then usually to film her reality-television show, Sarah Palins Alaska."
If Alaska "has moved on" from Palin, as Green suggests, she may very well be ready to move on from Alaska. As a public figure, no doubt it is difficult for her to fly back and forth from Alaska to appearances around the country, and Arizona would be a more convenient location. There seems to be little keeping here in state. Her son Track is still in Alaska, but he recently married his high school sweetheart, People reports. Palin may also want to keep an eye on Bristol in Maricopa. Or maybe she's just sick of the cold weather.
In any event, buzz surrounding Palin's supposed purchase were enough to prompt Public Policy Polling, a Democratic company based in North Carolina, to ask Arizona voters in an automated survey whether they would like Palin to move to their state. Fifty-seven percent said no, 27 percent said yes, and 16 percent were not sure. Just like in the political polls, Palin has her work cut out for her.
Because she wouldn’t be a desperate climber, like Clinton and Barack, vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard—or renting a big house in Hawaii. AZ’s a fine red state for her to adopt.
“A rumored Democratic poll”
There’s some fine journalism for you. I sure hope she runs, just to watch the leftists heads explode! Cain, Bachman, Palin, Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm
Is it not true that Scottsdale is in a little higher elevation so that it does not get as hot as some of the other parts........or is that Flagstaff?

Can’t help wondering what Todd thinks about a move to AZ
I don;t know but AZ is warmer then what she’s lived in for years. I think that’s why she looks so good and healthy.
AZ of all places. yuk, I wouldn’t last an hour.
Been looking at Iceland. Looks good. You think I could get in there? Maybe get some food stamps and with my age, I’d have to have free healthcare of course.
Plus there’s the small matter of “client/attorney privilege” which he could be disbarred for breach of fiduciary responsibilities.
After reading these Palin house buying threads, I have to say that people over analyze the hell out of things. If you live in the north and have the money, you buy a house in the south so you can escape the winters. A little winter weather can be tolerable but after a few months, it gets damn old. I’ve toyed with the idea of buying a home in AZ as well. Housing is really affordable down there at the moment. Golfing in January is appealing to me. Beats shoveling snow.
The future First Dude can trade in his snow machine(s) for water toys and the family can enjoy the Colorado River.
I’m sure he’d be comfortable and well-received just about anywhere he goes. Seems like a genuinely great guy.
A "rumored Democratic poll"? Is that how the commie "media" does business now? Report on "RUMORED DEMOCRATIC POLLS"?
I think it's time to start drug testing anyone who works in the state run MSM. Those bastards are nuts! The Obama tingle has infiltrated not only their "leg" but their brains also.
It sounds like this will not lead to a McGinness situation.
I think Ujala needs to go back to working as a cab driver, renting trailers and moving vans or working at a 7-11. He/she is an idiot. THESE ARE DemocRAT "polls" Ujala! Comprende?
Oh yeah I'll bet that was a fair sampling of likely voters.
"Hola. ¿ Hágale vota ?
¿ Hágale odia Sarah Palin también ?
57% who said “no” are Democrat hacks and illegals.
.....mehh, come to think of it....same thing.
Excellent post
Because she is not a democrat.
I'm a big Palin fan, I guess you can tell ;)
Anyway, your right to call me out. She isn't that yet, I just think she has that potential is all.
I could be wrong and I don't hold it against anyone for disagreeing, but I'm still going to argue on her behalf!
I think Flagstaff is a little higher elevation and a little farther north, farther from the Mexican border.
Kick that Aethelred the Unready out of office!
