GOP Beltway Insiders Krauthammer and Will Describe the Substantive Reasons Sarah Palin Can’t Win
Hot Air ^ | June 5, 2011 | Director Blue

Charles Krauthammer‘s substantive reasons that Sarah Palin can’t win in 2012:

I think it would make no sense for her to run. I think her chances of winning the nomination are small. The chances of winning the general election are probably nil. I think, for the same reasons you articulated, 60 percent negatives. That’s almost impossible to overcome. And it isn’t as if that is forever. Hillary Clinton had very high negatives at many points in her career. But over time, they tend to soften.

…The problem with her, I think, is that she is not schooled. I don’t mean she didn’t go to the right schools… But when it comes to policies, she’s had two and a half years to school herself, and she hasn’t. And that’s a problem. You want a president who will be able to not have to learn on the job. We’ve already had that… …with President Obama and with others… It’s the lack of effort to school herself and the lack of insight to see that she needs it…

…I think if you’re going to master policy, especially world affairs, you’ve got to know history. As you said, you have to know how things evolved, and she is weak on that. It’s not as if she can’t learn. The fact is it doesn’t appear as if she wants to sort of sit down, spend some months schooling herself, as many people have done in preparing for the presidency. If you’re a governor of any state, you face a narrow range of issues, and you don’t have to deal with the world. It’s incumbent on you to actually learn about it.

So, just to recap, Sarah Palin can’t win against Barack Obama because she has high negatives, she hasn’t “school[ed] herself”, and she’s weak on history. But an incompetent community agitator with no executive experience, no private sector experience and who is an acolyte of Alinsky is qualified because he has a beautiful, cultured speaking voice.

George Will‘s substantive reasons that Sarah Palin can’t win in 2012:

The independent voters have made up their minds about her, and it is a negative judgment they’ve made… After the 2008 campaign she had two things she had to do: she had to go home to Alaska and study, and she had to govern Alaska well. Instead she quit halfway through her first term and shows up in the audience of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and other distinctly non-presidential venues…

Just to recap: independent voters have a negative opinion of Palin. And the fact that Democrat operatives had filed 18 frivolous lawsuits — all later dismissed — against her (source: Associated Press), which were bankrupting her family, had nothing at all to do with it. That, plus appearing in the audience of Dancing with the Stars, disqualifies her.

Is this really what passes for informed commentary inside the Beltway?

Remember: Krauthammer worked for Walter-Freaking-Mondale in 1980. George Will endorsed Howard Baker in 1980. Both of these guys completely missed the Reagan revolution. Krauthammer and Will are certainly smart dudes, but their political instincts appear to be for s***. Palin can win. Bachmann can win. Cain can win. Ryan can win. Santorum can win. Obama is a sitting duck if confronted with a true, articulate Constitutional conservative.

He’s a walking, talking disaster as President. And everyone knows it.

By the way, I’ve been out of town for a while. How are those Stimulus, HAMP, Cash-for-Clunkers, Weatherization, Green Jobs, Obamacare, “Banking Reform”, drilling moratorium, First-Time Home-Buyer Credit, auto company takeovers and QE2 programs working out?

Hat tips: Mark Levin and Gateway Pundit.

He has those numbers now....or at least has for the better part of the past year (not sure of most recent polling). one or the other would have to chance, and only one is directly responsible for the economic problems.

Yeah I wonder why people don’t get that. Anyone acceptable to Conservatives is completely unacceptable to the media. The media will attack anyone not acceptable to them. Palin has been attacked non stop, and they have been unable to really hurt her with anything specific. What else is there to know about Palin? It’s all out there. She just has to win people over with the same political skills that we appreciate.

If she doesn’t run now, she’d have to become a US Senator if she wants to run and win in 2016 or later. But I think she should run now. If she doesn’t win, run again.

I’m so determined that Sarah Palin become president of the U.S.A. I will most likely write in her name even if she does not run. If she does not run, it will literally break my heart. I am already extremely pessimistic about the fate of our country. I do not see anyone else who has exactly what is needed to turn things around. I see Sarah as our last hope of survival. Seriously.

But most of that is the caricature the media has created. Campaigns provide the opportunity to change people’s minds. As do bus tours to our landmarks and being available to talk to people. And the movie is supposed to show just how talented she is...what a good EXECUTIVE she is. She has plenty of time for people to get to know the real Sarah.

You must live in an alternate universe.

Few people are as deep and wide as Palin. What doesn’t she do? - Nothing!

There isn’t a subject that you can offer where she won’t wrap you around the nearest tree.

The presidency is not an affirmative action, learn on the job resume enhancer. We need someone ready to lead from day one, and yes I have my doubts Sarah is that person

Someone to lead from day one? Seriously who is ever able to meet that criteria until they are in the job? There's lots of CEO & senior execs & top military officers who have been found out to be unable to lead or inspire. Even the former military generals who went on to become president, have for the most part turned out to be weak, mediocre & even corrupt leaders (Ulysses S Grant, Andrew Jackson). I think we need a balls to the wind, rock solid conservative leader who will not cave in & go wobbly if or when he or she becomes president. I certainly don't see any typical Repub politician meeting that criteria, with the exception of Sarah Palin & Michelle Bachmann. And I would go in a heartbeat for Hermann Cain as well, as a non-politician, which to me is a big positive. He might be the best one to open up cans of whoop ass repeatedly on 0dumbo! Bottom line is, we need a conservative, principled, rock solid Repub who will attack 0dumbo without mercy and never let up.

And how many sitting GOP candidates were frivolously sued dozens of times while the MSM said nothing?

Or all the stories of her seeing Russia from her house, Dinosaurs roaming the Earth 4000 years ago, shooting Wolves from aerial craft, banning books, etc...and all false.

And the brave media calls her a See You En Tee and a TW@T (Bill Maher) or threaten to have her “gang raped by my black brothers” (Sandra Bernhardt)

And they go after her kids as well, and use the excuse that she “paraded them around” so they were “open game”

Of course, they never talk about Track Palin, who served in Iraq, unless they are making up lies that he was “forced” to join the service (Do people actually believe that still happens?) for allegedly vandalizing school buses, not because he loves his country like his Mother does and joined the Army and went to Iraq without being forced to do so?

These are just a few examples.

Tell me, what candidate has the MSM ever done this to?

Name one and give examples.

The closest I can think of is how they said Reagan was going to start a nuclear war.

Instead, he freed Millions from oppression and ended the Cold War, which the MSM will never admit.

As Sean Hannity said, 2008 is the year the Media died.

They put a glorified “community organizer” in the WH based on nothing but ambiguous speeches and a catch phrase, while painting McCain as mentally unstable from his years as a POW and Palin as flat-out crazy with lies and innuendo, and refusing to refute any of the lies making the rounds on the internet.

Like I said, name one GOP candidate that was smeared like Palin was, and give examples as I did.

We have to see *The Undefeated*!

I endorse your every word. I’m certain she won’t let us down. She trusts in God and we have believed for a good long time that He has His hand in this. We pray and we know that the right answer will be the one we await.

(((Prayers, love and hugs)))
I’ve got to try to go to sleep.

We either need to ignore Krautmuffin/Will/Rove and the like, or attack them on their stupidity in every venue and media outlet possible. Since Libs don’t watch Fox News, we are hurting ourselves by watching and giving them any credibility. As for their newspaper articles, it’s libs reading them, not us. If we stop giving them credibility they no longer deserve, where do they get it from?
