You got that Creek. Paul is known for paying people to show up and vote. I guess Huntsman also is following that pattern.

Buddy Roemer, boring and long winded. Don't think he'll last long in the race.

Marsha Backburn seems to know where we should be going, but the crowd wasn't too much into her.

The loudest I heard the crowd was when Lt Col Steve Russel gave his speech. It was so loud in the assembly I opened the door and everyone was standing....He'll be the next Allen West. Why Florida is getting all the good ones?

I think they counted the Huntsman Chemical Shareholder’s votes.

Last year, the Mormons won, this year, Ron Paul beat the Mormons.

They do spend their own money, or fellow supporters help them out with “chip-ins”. It’s an established procedure.

People say “I want to go, I need money” and supporters send it to them.

Sarah Palin wasn't listed as a speaker, but rumors were circulating that someone saw her bus in the New Orleans area and was going to be on site for 11am.
I was to leave for 11am for other appointments, but decided to stay a little longer so I could see her. So I waited until 11, no show. Another rumor said it was caught up in traffic and will be in for 12 noon, still no show. Security folks said they saw someone being escorted in that looked like her, but weren't sure, I still waited.

My cutoff time was 230pm, so I left. I will be severly heartbroken if she does show up this evening.

I guess you’re saying that young Republicans should be ignored. Perhaps they should all vote Democrat?

Perry was in the hallway passing by right before I left.

Every single Republican event sucks because Ron Paul always wins? Is that what you’re saying?

What you won’t think about is that Ron Paul is well organized and none of the other candidates have any organization at all.

These straw polls are tests of organization, they aren’t popularity contests. Ron Paul has the organization.

And organization matters.

My bad. When I heard him say something about backing up Allen West, I assumed he was from Fla.

Nope not at all. I’m justing saying they get help either via Paul’s funding or otherwise as opposed to self financing. Paul works this group well but in the end they can’t put him anywhere in the hunt for the win at crunch time. Just the way the primary mess works out. You’d think other candidates would tap into this but they don’t.

Add the Mormons - Huntsman and Romney - and you get 456

Ron Paul got over 600

Last time, the Mormons won, this time Ron Paul won.

OK, so Huntsman has three times the support of Romney, Palin and Pawlenty combined? Yeah, I believe that.

Paul had 438 votes in 2010. Only one vote behind Romney at 439. For bought and paid for votes that’s not bad.
