Ron Paul Supports Occupy Wall Street
Free Keene ^ | November 21, 2011 | "Ian"

Ron Paul spoke tonight at Keene State College, and as is being reported nationally, was “mic checked” by Occupy Keeneat the end of his speech. The occupiers said:

“We are the 99%! We will be heard! There are criminals on Wall Street who walk free, there are protesters in jail…There’s something wrong with this system. We are the 99%! We will be heard!”

He handled it graciously by smiling throughout and then by asking them if they feel better. He was also sure to point out his agreement with the Occupy Wall St. movement, saying,

“I’m very much involved with the 99. I’ve been condemning the 1%…the people on Wall street got the bailouts and you guys got stuck with the bill and I think that’s where the problem is.”

Here’s video of the Mic Check and Ron’s response, courtesy of Nick Ryder:

Paul tends to mention the Tea Party and Occupy crowd in the same breath, and treat us as equals. There couldn’t be more difference between the two, but Paul doesn’t see anything except the protest.

It’s much easier to paint the whole OWS movement as all communists and left wing nut jobs. Otherwise, we have to think a little.

Several posters don’t like Ron Paul. Their answer is to broad brush everything.

If you listen to the Schiff interviews, you learn that there are:

1. those who are against government involvement in college education funding because it has left us with a ruined college costs
2. Those who think it was government that ruined the housing market
3. Those who think bailing out banks while they pay themselves bonuses is not a good idea

Ron Paul supports OWS because Ron Paul is a NUT! Just like most of them are.

In my opinion, the useful idiot filth in the OWS movement wouldn’t last long in any of the Muslim countries. They would be first on their not-wanted list and targeted by the fanatics for removal in any of those countries. If these vermin could read and comprehend history, they would know that they’re being used and quite expendable to any dictator including the mentally-challenged Liberals today and this Regime.

OWS aka Obama’s Army put the real face on Liberalism in the USA today.

I am in total agreement with him, and the OWS, as misguided as most of them are.

OWS has correctly identified the villains. The aims of their leadership may be suspect, but they have plenty of rank-and-file members who would be right at home in the Tea Party, once they gain a little non-MSM clarification about what the Tea Party really is.

Dismissing them as nothing but a group of smelly anarchist hippies is a profound mistake that is going to haunt a lot of Republican politicians, who will end up taking the blame for the Corzines of the world long before Obama ever will.

Watched a video out of Syria last night showing how they deal with protestors. Was not pretty.

The Occupier folks should be supporting Ron Paul....not the other way around.

You’re right, I don’t like Rep. Ron Paul. But that’s not why I said what I did about OWS. The “Occupy” movement is a construct of ACORN, adbusters, the unions, the Obama people, Soros and International ANSWER. Astroturf, rather than grassroots.

Corrupt government invites it. They punish companies who don’t go along.

Those who don’t blame government for its own actions are OWSers.

You might be right that Corzine didn’t receive the $12mm parachute.

Reports today seem to be saying that he made his own bets using client and corp. money to cover them, and he lost.

Interesting turn of events.

GOOD post!

The rank and file who were the original members of OWS have legitimate claims...even those dumb students who graduated with degrees that left them with no marketable skills. They all, rightly, have a reason to be POed.

The problem is that anarchists, who have never been known for their cleanliness, the homeless, and now, apparently, in Oakland the Weather Underground have infiltrated their ranks.

It’s the ‘60s all over again.

Doncha just love that we have all of the media that we do now, instead of just the three networks?

I totally agree that dismissing OWS as a bunch of smelly hippies is a mistake, even though there are now more of them...the smelly hippies and anarchists...than those who have real grievances.

Distraction...

Do you think we will see uniforms in the streets next summer? lol

BTW, given that OWS is going to try to Occupy Black Friday, that is foolish. I would never, ever try to get in between a Black Friday shopper and his/her good deal. It will be a death match akin to getting in between Michelle and a burrito. lol

“Corrupt government invites it. They punish companies who don’t go along.”

The Ford Motor Company...they resisted and are doing very well.

Corrupt government is like vampires in that they have to be invited in. ;o)

Sure...there have been companies that they have strong armed. But, it’s because they wanted them out of existence, like the oil companies.

What bothers me more than anything is that this government has circumvented the law so many times WRT shareholders, who have the first claim in any bankruptcy. That doesn’t invite investing.

“Those who don’t blame government for its own actions are OWSers.”

I have watched hours of webcam footage from the OWSers. The movement has been taken over by a very large group of extreme leftist radicals. The Weather Underground is in Oakland, now.

I know this was the ultimate goal, but the original kids who were unhappy with their situation have a legitimate beef.

This is the Carter administration on steroids. Back then, college grads were happy to get jobs as hamburger flippers. Now, after the way those kids were handed a bunch of bull about having any kind of degree will give them a leg up in life, and finding out that their skills aren’t marketable...it’s pretty sad.

As one who has a daughter who graduated from PharmD school in 2007, and still owes about $80K on her student loans, I hope those loans aren’t forgiven. Paying back loans is a lesson everyone needs to learn.
