Newt Gingrich, who's tried to contain damage from sordid claims his second wife Marianne Gingrich over the last 24 hours, was bolstered on conservative talk radio earlier today by Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin.
Limbaugh suggested an effort to try to "clear the field" on the GOP side, saying, "What needs to be said about Newt? It's out there. It's out there. I don't know. Fifty percent of the country has been divorced. I don't know...You have to think with Values Voters, yeah. Got any Values Voters? ...Well, they knew that Newt was divorced. They knew the first divorce story and they've been told how that was blown out of proportion and wasn't true in a lot of ways, but, yeah: They've known that Newt played around. They knew that Clinton played around...That's another thing. I think the question I'm dealing with here is, 'Do you think it will hurt Newt?' At some point (and we've seen it before) there's gonna be a mainstream media backlash.
He added, "I don't know whether this is enough to cause it, but at some point if this keeps up there will be a huge backlash against the media to not let them clear our field. So we'll see. We'll see how it manifests itself."
Palin, on Sean Hannity's radio show, was more pointed, saying, via the Daily Caller, “They think by trotting out this old Gingrich divorce interview — that’s old news and it does feature this disgruntled ex- that claimed that it would destroy a campaign. All this does is, Sean, is incentivize conservatives and independents who are so sick of the politics of personal destruction because it’s played so selectively by the media.”(continued)

I stand with Sarah, Rush, and our own Jim Robinson (and proud to be in their company) in supporting Newt.
Newt is the most conservative who can win. He can go head to head against Obama in a debate, even with TOTUS, and wipe the floor with him.
Newt has apologized, repented, and asked for forgiveness.

Everyone has experienced personal pain, and to elevate an issue like this to a Presidential election is petty and wrong. Many “values voters” are capable of understanding this, and in remembering that “to forgive is divine” is a value, too.
Newt Gingrich is the person for this moment in our history. He is the one who will actively seek to cut the size and scope of the US govt. If we do not accomplish that one thing restoring the constitutional republic will never happen. IMO none of the other three candidates has the will or the where with all to get that job done.

I agree and I think more and more people are seeing it too. As his message reaches more and more ears, his favorability will climb imo.
Now I'm supposed to be shocked, offended, & disgusted by a candidate has been through two divorces ???? Only against a Republican would ABC try to make that case. Complete BS from ABC !

After his last two debates, I will have to cede to Newt. I know he was a cad but he was sexually molested when he was a teenager. I give him a pass.
If we hold him to what he says-—and maybe for his grandkids he is serious.— Maybe he does care what happens to America. He understands the Constitution. He sure is a great speaker and a quick wit.
Nobody likes people who turn on others for their own self serving purposes. Newt is right to get away from her.
One thing to keep in mind with NEWT. HE CONTROLS THE DEBATES, he owns the media/mods. He is not afraid of them, just the opposite. That is the kind of man I want to go against Obama and his media thugs, Newt is a pit bull and will attack when necessary and rightly so.
The look on the mods face while Newt was attacking, was priceless, total shock. The SLAP heard around the Nation was seen tonight.
To be clearer, Newt owned Romney tonight as Romney clearly dodged the Bain question. Go Newt

I think you have to read between the lines and listen to TGE dogwhistling.
Sarah did state outright (in interview with Greta) that if she were voting in the SC primary, she would vote fir Newt.
Cincinna used the word support, not endorse. Endorse is your word. Rush and Sarah both support Newt in the sense of giving Newt a fair shot at running for office and also defending himself against political attacks.
And they both disgust me for doing it and I am a HUGE Sarah supporter. How we, as Christians and Conservatives, can defend the a-moral Gingrich utterly FLOORS me. He is a pig. He has the morals of Caligula. And while I hope he beats Romney in SC and sends him into the hills, ask yourself what you’d think if Gingrich were a Liberal. Do we choose to ignore such terrible character flaws merely because he is running on the GOP ticket? That is sad, but it is true.
Gingrich is horrid. I will let God sort it out for eternity, but as for me on this Earth there is no way I will ever vote for this ... person. And while I know Santorum is just not Presidential, I support him because he has integrity. I doubt Newt can spell it and Romney is the antithesis of it.
