Sarah Palin Initiates Rush Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos” Campaign? (Poll to FReep, too)
The Shark Tank ^ | March 7, 2012 | Javier Manjarres

While Governor Mitt Romney garnered the most delegates coming out of Super Tuesday, the possibility of a brokered Republican convention is beginning to take a life of its own as Romney’s victories and defeats on Tuesday continue to send the signal that the former Governor of Massachusetts is still considered by many Republicans to be their “default” candidate.

Romney will need to amass 729 more delegates from the remaining 1145 still up for grabs- about 50% of the remaining delegates. Rick Santorum needs to grab 968 of the remaining delegates, while Gingrich needs 1037 more.

With Senator Rick Santorum’s strong finish after Super Tuesday’s primary races, and the very real possibility that he may win several more of the upcoming primary races, speculation is mounting as to whether or not it will be possible for any of the candidates in the race to reach the 1144 delegate votes needed to win the Republican Presidential nomination. Let’s not forget that while Newt remains very popular, he is now considered the spoiler in the race and could take votes away from both Santorum and Romney.

Factor in another possibility that is making many in the Conservative movement take pause before voting- the Sarah Palin factor.

Sarah Palin had this to say to CNN on Tuesday:

“Anything is possible. I don’t close any doors that perhaps would be open out there, so, no, I wouldn’t close that door,” Palin said after casting her vote in Alaska’s Republican caucuses. “My plan is to be at that convention.”-Governor Sarah Palin

As Palin has made glowing remarks about Newt Gingrich and stated that she voted for him in Alaska, some political conspiracy theorists believe these were part of a strategy on her part to help Gingrich win more delegates, which would move along the possibility of a brokered convention. Were this to be the case, it would be a play right out of Rush Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos” playbook.

As you no doubt remember, Rush sent out marching orders in 2008 that encouraged Republicans to go out and vote for Hillary Clinton in the open Democratic primary elections simply to prolong the primary process that would allow the Democrat candidates at the time- Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton to bloody themselves up before they had to face off with Senator John McCain and the Republican Party.

Should Governor Sarah Palin seriously entertain running for President if there is a brokered Republican convention?

******

Would you support Sarah Palin for President in a brokered Republican Convention?

Yes

No

I think Javier meant "imitates" not "initiate" but who knows?

Just deny Myth his 1144.

Everything else will take care of itself.

Why does there always have to be a hidden purpose when someone goes against the grain of the establishment? If she had voted for Romney or Santorum, this wouldn’t even be an issue. Could Sarah Palin have simply voted for Gingrich because she likes what she sees and hears from him? If Newt gets any bump from this, I will bet that Santorum openly diminishes Palins importance and credibility. What you want to bet?

It's actually 64%, which only strengthens Javier's argument.

I don’t take sucker bets like that one. Milt, Ricky and Wrong would all denigrate Reagan or Washington if it’d get them 100 votes.

So would Newty the Grinch. It’s fun to make up names for the other person’s candidate, isn’t it?

Except that Ron is WRONG, on so many issues, that it fits like a glove. Don’t get me started on that senile, racist, anti-Semitic fool. Does Newt really want to take away your Christmas presents?

Have you ever seen a more juvenile form of expression?

Yet “we” are so much superior to places like DU and Kos...

I don’t see why it’s asking so much to just refer to people by their proper names. I can’t imagine anyone who posts on FR actually saying these things to the candidates face.

Cheap therapy I suppose...

Actually Romney only needs to win 57% remaining delegates, not 64%, because Ron Paul will give him 7% delegates.

Palin positions herself to earn some Tea-party delegates at convention then donate hers to Newt for VP position.

Newt delivers thundering speeches at the convention.

Santorum will have less delegates than Newt at this point and no chance to win, so he honorably gives his share to Newt also.

AND NEWT’S SOUTHERN STRATEGY FINALLY PAYS OFF WITH THE PRESIDNETIAL NOMINATION AND GO ON TO BEAT OBAMA IN A LANDSLIDE.

The Left asks for a brokered convention, they will get one!

As Palin has made glowing remarks about Newt Gingrich and stated that she voted for him in Alaska

Is this the same CNN interview I saw? In the one I saw they asked who she voted for and she emphatically would not say. Did I miss it, or was I in the wrong universe that night?

As usual, I just respond when people try to belittle and marginalize my preferred candidate by naming him in the diminutive. Whether I do or don’t support him, Newt has a stature which deserves respect. So does Rick.

I am not in love with Newt. Rick is OK. He is #2 on my list of the ‘very flawed candidates who are left’ is all.
