Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst (R) was booed at his state party's convention on Saturday, a warning sign for the Senate candidate as he heads into his runoff against former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz (R) as well as a sign of the increasing discord within the state party.
Dewhurst received a tepid response to his speech and was booed when he sought to subtly attack Cruz and the outside groups backing him, according to the Texas Tribune.
"This runoff is a clear election between a lifelong conservative businessman, a conservative leader, a Washington outsider and a lawyer who is funded principally by Washington special interests," Dewhurst said, drawing boos and catcalls from the state party delegates in attendance.
Dewhurst drew more jeers when he attacked the fiscally conservative Club for Growth, which spent heavily for Cruz in the first round of voting, calling its members "Washington special insiders" who would run ads "attacking Texas."

I really don’t have anything against either man (I found myself liking Loeffler more than either of them but I voted for Cruz), I just wish the campaign hadn’t turned into a smearfest. Perhaps I shouldn’t but I still expect two conservatives who agree on a lot to not attack like a couple of pit bulls.
Yep, I fear those of us who expect a degree of decorum and civility out of a conservative engaged in political discourse are a dying breed. If you can’t hate, then you are out of touch. It’s a sad deterioration in our political discourse and we are worse off for it.
What you are being told by the reichmarshal and gabby is all lies. They know nothing of Texas politics. Texas Tribune is the mouthpiece for the Texas Trial Lawyers of which Cruz is a member of that club.
Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is the proven conservative and the trial lawyers and outside groups are just trying to get another of their own in the U.S. Senate. The tea-partiers who have fallen for the lawyer’s ruse are idiots.

He titled his post based on a lie promulgated by The Texas Tribune, the liberal Austin trial lawyer online garbage, then repeated by “The Hill”, another online pile of steaming garbage, all of whom deliberately lie about what happened at the convention.
Didn’t the Lt. Gov Dewhurst support in-state tuition for illegals? That’s all I need to hear... Cruz it is!

Sound like a scorned lover. One doesn’t have to be a Road Scholar to figure out that Texas, with a near 2/3 majority in both houses of the legislature is TOTALLY IMPOTENT when it comes to conservative legislation, particularly with respect to ILLEGAL immigration (hell, you guys won’t even let us pass a Sanctuary City law...even as cops are killed).
Dewhurst is the Lt. Governor, considered the STRONGEST political position in the state - and NOTHING HAPPENS.
So who do you blame? (hint, Perry is an acceptable answer, but this stuff isn’t even reaching his desk)
