Democrats on edge amid Obama debate fallout

It's more than President Barack Obama's lackluster debate performance that has some Democrats on edge a month from Election Day.

Party loyalists, in Washington and in battleground states, are fretting that Obama's campaign has been slow to rebound after Republican Mitt Romney's commanding debate. They're worried that the Democratic ticket isn't aggressive enough in blocking Romney's post-debate pivot to the political center. And they fear Romney's new effort to show a softer side gives the Republican nominee an opening with female voters, who are crucial to the president's re-election prospects...

Why? The VP debate is, to use the chi-town vernacular, “in the bag” with Martha Raddatz there to ensure Idiot Joe Biden looks good (or at least as good as possible).

I went on YouTube to watch some of the debates of Obama against McCain in 2008 to see how Obama is at his best.

In that debate he was very cheery and confident and was making endless optimistic promises. Obviously, that doesn’t work as well this time around.

Debbie Downer is in her own fight and very obviously missing from the national scene. Not that I miss her, but she is as scarce as an honest Ill-Annoy politician.

What do Dems need to be so glum about ?

In addition to a very public and tragic foreign affairs debacle in Libya, the Obama campaign has elevated Big Bird to a matter of national importance, and daily polling shows Romney closing the gap in every swing state, eating away at crucial Obama voting blocks, and starting to be competative in some traditional Dem states.

Looming on the horizon is a debate in which Biden might go rogue with a catastrophic gaffe, and another debate with Romney that could lose the election for Obama if he falls flat again.

Even a draw in these debates won’t stop the bleeding.

Cheer up Dems !

Cummings on the committee today said it’s just not right to call another citizen a liar. I guess he doesn’t believe Romney is a citizen.
