Someone asked me why a “DOOM ANTIDOTE” is still needed when it looks like since the Denver debate not even the most conniving of Tokyo Roses in conservative ranks has been able to rev the Eeyores out there up with any “We’re doomed!” reports of “Obama’s winning this!”. Something magical happened at that debate between Romney and Obama that has prevented the Democrats’ Ministry of Truth (Minitru, for short) in the national media from being able to claim that “Romney’s campaign is imploding!” or “Obama’s inevitable!”. None of that was ever true. Romney was never in trouble. Romney’s campaign has been well-run, professional, competent, and I think brilliant at times. But Minitru was succeeding for a while in revving up the Eeyores (those selfish, attention-seekers out there who enjoy any excuse to bray “We’re doomed!” so they can solicit comfort and reassurance from those around them…if you can’t tell, I have a hard time stomaching these people because they really are energy vampires and emotional terrorists) to damage the Romney campaign from within its own ranks by causing Republicans to curl up into fetal positions and abandon the race. Why Eeyores believe a damn word that Minitru tells them on their tee-vee or in newsprint is a question I’ve struggled with for four and a half years now, since I first identified Eeyores as a major problem in the 2008 presidential primaries. What makes Eeyores so dangerous is that often times the Eeyore doesn’t even realize the damage he or she is doing and won’t stop to think about how much his or her panicked actions actually help Democrats (the people the Eeyore supposedly doesn’t want to win the election)...

I think he is largely correct on the points that Mitt was always going to win this thing and on the media dynamic.
Now I had not noticed the eeyore stuff from allahpundit, but Erickson is definitely a bit of a CNN “go to” pimp the way Scarborough is for MSBNC. As for Will, I think he’s just truly blinded sometimes by too much time inside the beltway, and is not an intentional liberal pimp - and Noonan is just an enigma but probably rotted by time in NY.
As for them losing cred within the conservative community? I think they already have to a degree - but never will to the full extent they should.
Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker, Christopher Buckley, Colin Powell and David Frum all supported Barack Obama and voted for him in 2008, IIRC.
I smell fishiness. I suspect that the clueless Dems are now shifting strategy to encourage Conservatives that they need not go out and vote for their not-so-acceptable-but-becoming-somewhat more palatable Romney.

In IL-17, tea party Bobby Schilling is neck-and-neck with Cheri Bustos, who was hand-picked by Durbin. A win here would be a personal insult to the #2 Dem in the Senate.

Well, to be honest, they were all dead to me long before 2008, but I did sit across a Dinner Table from Peggy Noonan way back when at CPAC. She was a handsome Woman back then.

Blago appointee, Tammy Duckworth, has proven to be more of an insider than we even thought to imagine. Duckworth is currently facing a lawsuit from two employees at the Illinois VA for alleged ethics violations. The allegations range from publicly humiliating an employee, attempting to fire a whistleblower and telling another "keep your mouth shut... and you can keep your job".
Before this revelation, it was already known Duckworth was cited by the Illinois Auditor General for 12 violations of state law and as undersecretary of the national VA, she blew $2.5 million of taxpayer money on a 6 day Hawaiian boondoggle that included $1 million for a party planner. Do we really need someone who is not just a tax and spend liberal but also one that would try to silence whistleblowers in Congress?

Thanks! A few small bright spots in the open cesspool known as ILL-ANNOY. The key is dumping Madigan and dismantling his hold on the state. Without that, we have no hope of an Indiana or Wisconsin-style conservative awakening. Will the ILL-ANNOY GOP-e make the best of it?
