Mitt Romney's Republican Get Out the Vote system (ORCA) had a meltdown on Election Day leaving some campaign workers wandering around with nothing to do. Now Anonymous has released a video claiming responsibility for jamming ORCA...

Any question as to how the members of ANON vote? Yet they claim they’re for transparent government...

wonder if they could hack into the voting systems also? or did?

but they can’t seem to hack into anything Barry-related.
wonder why that is?

From what I have read about ORCA, the nitwits running it were more than capable of tanking the system without any help from hackers.

If the Anonymous claim is accurate, they have admitted to acts which range from election felonies to, in the case of the Israeli hacks, treason.

Arguably, a case can be made that given the above confession, the Israeli’s would be justified in a precise bombing of the hacker conventions. After all, as President Bush said, if you aid a terrorist, you are a terrorist.

Suggestion: Stay well clear of any group of known hackers.

If you mean hack into voting machines in a polling place, it can’t happen as those machines are not hooked to the internet at any time.

This was just the warm up for 2014. We will not take the Senate as long as we follow a weak GOPe and they have control of the party. Romney spelled out part of the problem with bought votes. It needed to be said nationwide if we are ever to get real Americans out to vote to block the current communists Administration.

Did they change the voting machines and how ballots were counted, too? Why wouldn't they?

Just wondering...if "they" did this because Bush was bad, what do they think about obama? What has Bush done that obama hasn't done and more?

If they aren't on his team, they are dead meat. The net will be locked down and they will be hunted down.

I have no idea if Orca was hacked or not...but trust me when I say it would not have made any difference. It was a bad program from the get go. No one asked folks on the ground what they thought of Orca. They should have.

Here in FL it was a non starter. The Orca volunteer had to get behind the check in table and enter names from multiple checkers. FL law allows the SOE a lot of lattitude in determining where to place poll watchers...in liberal counties (Broward, Palm be, and Dade...iow the population centers) they are placed somewhere other than where check in screens are visible. Even if the situation were ideal, the poll watcher is not going to be able to enter names on a smart phone as fast as the poll worker can scan them from driver’s license.

Some fool sold RR on this orca crap without a whole lot of critical thought getting applied to the situation. Had anyone asked a poll watcher from past campaigns their thoughts, the design might have been different But what the heck do I know.

Agreed. It’s felonies and treason. The damage done to our political system makes it an act of terror. When people lose confidence in our republic because the vote can’t be trusted, then we no longer have a republic. Anonymous is no idealistic group of misguided kids. This is hard core crime designed to strengthen the Dictatorship.

Anonymous might have broken into Orca. But Anonymous did not decide to replace GOTV with an untested system. Anonymous did not give volunteers incorrect login information. Anonymous did not choose to forego testing. Anonymous were not the ones who decided to skiip training volunteers and give just a few screen shots. Anonymous did not decide that volunteers would not be able to practice with the system in advance. Anonymous did not decide that it was a great idea for someone in Ohio to tell people in Boston who voted in Ohio just so someone in Boston could tell someone in Ohio to go call them. Anonymous was not the one who decided that volunteers should be told that the system was working for most people and they should just hold tight and try again later.

Exactly my thoughts!
It wouldn’t surprise me if this election was stolen via computer hacking and other means of fraud. I don’t expect either the GOP to investigate it or for it to be acted upon by the Justice Department. I suspect the final straw has been placed on the back of “lady liberty” and she is broken.

America as a city on a hill or a beacon of peace and justice is gone, but God is not dead and He is not fooled. One day, either here on Earth or at Judgement day, EVERY knee will bow at the name of Jesus, who is truth.

Linux/UNIX is supposed to have better security. I don’t know whether Romney’s IT staff decided to go with Linux/UNIX or with the more vulnerable Windows. (Mac computers on System 10.x run BSD UNIX.)

Hacking the vote....although the voting machines are not Internet ready, the tallies are uploaded and transmitted via the World Wide Web. Counts uploaded to state sites that had Trojans awaiting would be able to adjust the numbers without displaying any viewable changes. If the state sites held no Trojans, then the ability to intercept the data during transmutation would work just as we’ll. Think about a trace route when checking your Internet speed and you should see where and at how many hops that data might pass through.

Just my opinion but I believe Orca had two objectives: 1) to monitor ill regularities in submitted results, a checks and balance... 2) to uncover any electronic tampering, cyber warfare that ushers in political direction. Even though Orca seems to have failed, it has fulfilled at least one directive. Anyone who feels Orca was coded by first graders, should ask why .

Anonymous did not choose to forego testing

Anyone who's got any real world experience delivering software has absolutely no excuse for going light on testing. Your first "draft" of a complex program is just a proposal, of sorts. Until it has interacted fully with reality, not even the best coder has any right to expect it to work on the first attempt. Programmer hubris.

Or management indifference to the artificial nature of deadlines. In my undergraduate CompSci, we were told that for any given software project, if you knew any two of the following, you could not know the third: Cost, Functionality, Time to Completion. I've found it to be a reliable principle. You have to choose what you consider most important, and accept the consequences of that choice.

A memory card is taken out of the machine and taken to central counting. Both a Republican and Democrat make that trip to assure no one has access to the memory card on the way there. Texas law says a law enforcement officer must follow the car.

I am under the impression The coding and templates used in Orca are well tested and have been in use for quite some time. Peeling the skin off a banana and replacing it with that of a plantain, does not effect the core, it is still a etible banana. The issues that plagued Orca on election night would have effected any such program run that evening. It was clearly sabatoged and I for one hope all information gathered during directive 2 helps exposé this security breach. National Security exceeds any single election.

Once machine results get to central counting, in Texas, the law my husband wrote defines who may work in central counting and what each one does. That was to assure both parties were present and specific order was kept during the process.

If “Shaw’s Law”, which is what we called it, was operating in Florida, West’s votes would not have been “misplaced”.

Probably, unless they are useful. Sometimes I think things like this are like a job interview/resume/business card all in one, but the stakes, the nature of the game and employers have changed these last few.

Anonymous has also been going after Israel, as reported on Breitbart. This is one response with a real world hardened point of view from Scribe71:

"All it takes is one little slip up and game over."

Which is all the evidence required to determine that "anonymous" is nothing that it pretends to be. Young people, even high-functioning hacker types, are incapable of the kind of organization required for this sort of sustained effort. The idea that they've been able to effectively target nations and global corporations while going undetected by intelligence agencies and private security firms for as long as they have is laughable on its face. There's a state-sponsor behind this operation. Most likely Russia, the United States, or both.

Interesting times, huh?
