Hillary Clinton's Iowa problem
CNN ^ | January 14, 2014 | Peter Hamby, National Political Correspondent

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) -- In Iowa, the state that pulled the first block out of her wobbly Jenga-game of a presidential campaign six years ago, Hillary Clinton enjoys stratospheric approval ratings, well-heeled outside groups toiling on her behalf, and important political connections that date back decades.

From a distance, she appears invincible once again, far outpacing her rivals in the polls and primed to redeem herself in the caucus state that has never been especially friendly to the Clintons, or to female candidates.

Iowa has not elected a female governor, senator or member of Congress. In 2016, Clinton could finally put those demons to rest.

But beneath the surface here, familiar pitfalls might await Clinton should she decide to run: A restive and emboldened progressive base long suspicious of Clintonian moderation, a hunger for fresh Democratic voices, and a caucus electorate that boasts a cherished tradition of voting with its heart rather than its head.

"One of the great things about our party is that we are always looking for new leadership and new faces to represent the changing face of the Democratic Party," said Kimberley Boggus, a 34-year-old Democratic organizer from Beaverdale. "We are looking for new leadership because that's what's needed right now."(continued)

After Obama, only a real retard would vote for Hillary. It would be better to repair this country after only 8 years than 16. We’re still three years away from the elections and “Retards For Hillary 2016” is already fired up and stealing peoples’ money. Morons.

“After Obama, only a real retard would vote for Hillary.”

Oh, there are millions of them... remember, we’re talking about the American electorate, as well. The aggravating part of all this is Hillary will probably garner 65-70% of the women’s vote. Somewhere along the way, we’re going to be flummoxed by the inexplicable gravitation of some prominent, erstwhile “conservative” women who will be overcome by the urge to be “part of something historic.”

Hillary may win. And if she does, it will only be because she is a woman. But I suspect millions of Americans, both male and female, are sick and tired of the same old wind-up toys on the political stage and are waiting for someone whose skin color or gender is not their defining characteristic.

if it is the woman vote that will put Hillary in the White House, the GOP needs to put a woman on the top of their ticket.

Sarah Palin perhaps?

Why are we supposed to be excited about a woman president, if that woman is Hillary Clinton? Isn’t she shopworn by now? Can’t the Clintons just go away? Their time has come and gone.

I can’t believe too many conservative women would vote for Hillary because of wanting to elect a woman president.

A restive and emboldened progressive base long suspicious of Clintonian moderation...

LOL, the phrase "Clintonian moderation" is so Clintonian it rips time and space. Maybe the Pentagon should write it on the noses of its missiles to increase their impact by about a million percent (LOL, they probably already do).

Hillary in the Oval Office would be the end of the country, folks. Obama is a nose-picking child sitting in a sandbox compared to what this bitch would unleash on everyone. She's nothing but insane rage incarnate, and they only thing she dreams about is total destruction. Reason? She don't need no stinking reason.

Well make up your mind, dude, did she have a wobbly Jenga-game or was she invincible? LOL, oh, my bad - this is Hillary! She had both - an invincible wobbly Jenga-game! Sorry! LOL!

“Retards for Hillary 2016” and “Morons for Hillary 2016” would make great bumper stickers for slapping on every random Prius and Subaru a person sees in a parking lot.

I think it all comes down to the Chicago mob.
If you see Axlegrease, Gibbs, and Pluffy lined up with somebody else, Hillary likely goes down.
And if they’re on board, she’s a winner.

The counter to the “part of something historic” aspect would be to use Zerobama as an example and/or say “Would you vote for a Nazi midget pedophile for president? That would truly be historic.” and watch them stammer and stutter for a coherent answer.

We have a winner. Our neighboring state of South Carolina has a wonderful governor by the name of Nikkie Haley. She looks like just the little angel we need.

Hillary is the most uninspiring speaker ever. The public never got a chance to discover this because Obama won the last Dem primary.

When people finally hear her they will wonder, "why on earth is this woman so famous"?

“When people finally hear her they will wonder, “why on earth is this woman so famous”? “

You hit the nail on the head. The media cannot cover that up at all. She is not the “inspiration” that Obama was to the brainwashed cogs of the Democratic Party.

She has less charisma than Al Gore. She only stands a chance to win against Chris Christie and Jeb Bush types. If a Conservative runs against her, she’s done for.

Karl Rove is an ass, but he was 100% correct when he said that she’s a flawed candidate. 2008 might have been a close election if she won the primary. I think she would have won, but not by the margins Obama won. I don’t think she’s going to run in 2016 (I flat out admit I can be wrong :-) ). They are going to use her to raise money though. Hell, I would! Obama’s cost them a ton of campaign cash thus far!
