If Hillary, then Newt
The Hill's Pundit Blog ^ | January 10, 2014 | Bernie Quigley

Posted on 01/14/2014 8:40:27 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Students of “The Walking Dead” will understand the Bible-thumping Hershel’s dictum that plagues (he means zombies, which always suggest something else) come when nature (he means God) needs to correct itself.

Seven years of too bountiful a crop will always be followed by locusts or dust storms, and for every Michael Bloomberg there will be a Bill de Blasio. It goes the other way as well: When Clintons overreach and the Hillary experience becomes simply an extension of Bill’s cult of personality, there will be a Newt, because Newt Gingrich is now and always has been the equal and opposite counterforce to the Bill Clinton political culture.

We are today plagued by novelty (New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie) and nostalgia (former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush). Gingrich is neither. He is always on the defensive. He never yields ground, in any circumstance, like at the chapel of Amherst College in December where he fired up the young'uns. And if Clinton runs for president in 2016 — her agents and minions were all over town last week — nature will call forth Newt because they are equal and opposite counterforces. And whether or not Gingrich wins the presidency, and in this match he will, he will bring fire to the discussion and win the day. Because Gingrich — and I am not particularly a fan — speaks to the future, while Clinton, like Bush and the endless, monarchical Kennedys, speak to the past, which is left behind now to a previous millennium. Like Yoko and Madame Mao, Clinton is a personality extender for a generation no longer awakened in the world but not yet asleep. There for those who can’t let go. They bring merely sadness and impatience.

It has already likely been swept away, but history should first recall President Obama for his exceptional moment. He was the un-Hillary in 2008. When Bill’s media hordes with the little “I miss Bill” bumper stickers swept the airwaves with the totalitarian chant of inevitable destiny, a quick look around found an attractive and dynamic young Chicago lawyer who much too young for the job, fully unprepared, himself not even taking it seriously at first, but who had a trickster instinct to take it forward. Obama saved America from its most corrupt and decadent political family dominating the Democratic Party and prevented the war-happy nostalgico Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) from gaining the White House. It wasn’t the best job, but the Obama family in an American sense was one of us: un-neurotic, un-needy, un-cloying, cut from our own American cloth and nature, normal. They saved the moment.

But the time of the turning is here. Danger lies ahead and we hear one Oxford scholar recently calling for an American Bismarck to lead us. We have seen this week the best among us, former Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, rise again into the public sector, and nothing could be more auspicious. Bismarck comes when it is already too late. We do not need a Bismarck, and it is not yet too late. But if we did, we would call on Newt Gingrich.

Newt would make an excellent Secretary of the Treasury!

I’m not supporting any of the typical GOP loser brigade ever again.

It’s Ted Cruz or bust, every f***in’ body else can go take a flying leap, they haven’t done a damn thing worth speaking of in the face of an American tyrant.

A Newt-Hillary debate would be entertaining, but he can’t be our best choice.

Actually, I like Newt. He’s not perfect. Has baggage. But he thinks outside the box, and expresses himself and our message very well, and I rather enjoyed his ideas, which were more ambitious than anybody elses. Santorum could never win because he had no ideas. He just stood around banners and had, on his website, almost to the bitter end, “the evils of pornagraphy” on the top of his issues page.

Newt at least had the flat tax, and even interesting, free-market ways we might start a race to the moon to setup a colony. It’s not like that does not benefit us in any way. There are resources on the moon, and in space in general, that tapping into would change the very nature of our economy. Wouldn’t happen right away, of course, but it be an exciting future.

She is nowhere near as smart as her sycophants like to make out. Newt or Ted Cruz would wipe the floor with her in a one-on-one debate.

Cruz-Newt-Palin-west-Pence-DR- jinxall etc etc You can name them !
I want a person who will unite them all and run as a group. We know which department they are going to run and what the plans are to get it in line. In other words cabinet appointments named at the same time the VO is named.
A pro active group at the gitgo all working to get this country back on track

Run on a plan not on a candidate

Let's see:

The guy who dumped his cancer stricken wife on her death bed vs. the brave martyr who stood by her cheating spouse for love of him and to help heal a divided nation.

yeah it is BS, but that is how it will play out.

And spent her 4 years as SOS with her Muslim sisterhood trained chief of staff who double dipped working for billies “ foundation “, all as her boss HRC worked with Obama to INSTALL THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD in Egypt and assist AL QUEDA in Syria and Libya, and HRC set the stage to create a nuclear armed Iran.

I think America takes Newt / anyone who has the balls to repeatedly hammer that argument.

FYI, Newt’s “cancer striken” ex-wife is alive and well. And, according to all reports, he actually gets on quite well with his non-dead, non-cancer stricken, ex-wife, who is the mother of his children with whom, by the way, he also has a very good relationship, just like Ronald Reagan did.

I also remember “The Chicago machine stopped the Clintons.” That surprised me.

Where is the picture of her at the NYC mayor's inauguration? She looks like Bernie from "Weekend at Bernie's"

That picture alone should give people second thoughts about supporting Hillary.

The GOP establishment went after Newt, and Hush Bimbo and the rest did nothing to counter the stream of lies pushed by Drudge on bloody Thursday. Drudge got his gay friendly nominee, who then proceeded to hand everybody over to Obama like the loser we all knew he was.

In what universe would either of them get to engage in a one-on-one debate with her?
Have we forgotten Candy Crowley already?

I love Newt but his time has come and gone. Ted Cruz or Rand Paul are the only two choices for 2016. Otherwise might as well let Hillary win and let the Civil War commence.

Back when Santorum was in the Senate, he debated Hillary on the subject of partial birth abortion, and he did indeed wipe the floor with her. I've tried to find the video of that debate, but it seems to have been disappeared.
