Indian Americans are mostly Democrats in the U.S according to quantitative analyses but a large number of them voted for Republican Donald Trump in this election, anecdotal evidence suggests. And one of the main reasons that many cite for doing so is Huma Abedin, former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s close aide, who happens to be a Muslim. Some others voted hoping that Mr. Trump will cut taxes.
Indian American leaders in the Democratic Party - candidates and major donors – have sought to create a larger Asian minority coalition in support of Ms. Clinton with Pakistani activists playing a significant role in the efforts. In Congressional contests of Indian Americans, Pakistani Americans supported them in large numbers. Many prominent Indian Americans with links to the RSS were in the Democratic camp and campaigned for Ms. Clinton. But that was only part of the story...

All you to know is my Hindu sister, her Hindu husband, and her 2 Hindu daughters have been voting democrat starting with Carter. I fell out of my chair when my sister said, this time they will vote for Trump.

In addition to everything you mention (accurately), we are also at the receiving end of the GOPe/Dim love for illegal invaders.
The entire DHS/INS budget for processing illegals continues to be paid for with fees collected from Indians, Chinese, and other legal immigrants. It’s a little known secret - and also why people like me have been at the forefront of the various battles against amnesty.

My Mom and sister too in Pa too. Granted I worked on them for months but I was shocked both told me yesterday they voted Trump in Pa.
I actually agree with you - Indian-Americans is a pejorative. 1st gen immigrants like me are Americans of Indian origin. My daughter is American. Period.
India has a diverse population of different “religions”, Hindu majority, large populations of Muslims, then there are Sikhs (a saint based warrior class of mix religions), there are Christians, yes even Jews, there are Buddhists, Jains (lredated Buddhism and is very similar to Buddhisk but is also very Hindu), Zoroastrians and “Fire worship”, Sun sects, sects which have no God or Gods but souls, sects which have One God called Brahman, a religion where the One God is Jyoti or Light, others ,...
... but the Hindus supported Trump.
... and, many Sikhs.
