Hot Air ^ | 10/26/17 | ED MORRISSEY

Has the ground shifted in the biggest election of this off-year with less than two weeks to go? Until this month, Republican candidate Ed Gillespie consistently trailed in polls for the Virginia gubernatorial election to Democrat Ralph Northam. Gillespie scored a one-point edge in a mid-month Monmouth poll, but now shows a commanding eight-point lead in a Hampton University survey:

Wide variance in polls when nothing dramatic has happened to change people’s votes tells us that some, or all, of the polls are inaccurate ... and probably had biased questions and bad sample population.

When I was growing up in the 1960s in West Springfield, Va,all our neighbors were middle class, military officers, engineers and managers. Now all the houses are occupied by immigrant construction and landscape workers. Springfield was a nice little community. Now it’s like a 3rd world shithole. Not safe for ya to walk around after dark. Why did we let all the MS13 gang members into our country?

Pro amnesty crowd say to difficult to become a legal immigrant.
If it’s so difficult, and takes so long to become a legal immigrant. Why has the Hispanic population in NOVA grown so rapidly over the past 15 years? What percentage of hispanics in Northern Virginia are illegals?

Yeah, like CA. VA is gone never to be red in generations. The demography is changing rapidly fueled by mass immigration. One third of Fairfax County, the largest county in VA, is foreign-born. The 2012 election marked the first time that the ballot was in Spanish in Fairfax County.

NoVA determines who wins in VA. The Dems dominate in NoVA especially in Fairfax County, Arlington County, and Alexandria.

I can attest to everything you say, living as I do in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, VA - the 8th Congressional District of Northern Virginia.

My Congressman is Don Beyer, who succeeded Jim Moran. Democrat succeeding Democrat.

I am, as they say, behind enemy lines.

I lived in McLean for 36 years (1979-2015) and watched VA transform into a blue state. I was active in the FCRC and served as a poll watcher and election officer. Demography is destiny.

RINOs have little appeal south of the Rappahannock.

At a certain point, extra money (to the democratic party’s OWN mass media!) begins to do several things:

1. It does pay back financially the mass market media that props up the democrat party and hides its scandals and corruption and anti-American stance on... well, everything. What? You don’t think nearly a billion dollars in democrat campaign money didn’t go to the networks and magazines and commercial presses?

2. It gives HUGE money and power to the groups the democrat party supports from donors to “organize” around and provides an entire lifestyle and energy for the “professionals” in those groups. The voters? Maybe not so much. There really are so many people in BLM or Jackson’s groups or LaRaza- but they get millions in publicity and air time by calling for donations, don’t they?

3. The massive push-polling, and constant TV ads, and constant 4-5-6 letters and broochures and fancy packages and emails and phone call recordings and radio ads only SERVE to disgust voters and turn off potential “converts”. They literally get sick of seeing Hillary ads.

Which were then thrown back in Hillary’s face by Facebook and social media posts from other people that are not in her mainstreammedia..

Or, as happened in GA, it can be used to build a giant bonfire and lit up.

Seriously, we can burn up D $$$ all day long. Doesn’t hurt me a bit.

BTW, while I’d like to believe this, don’t.

Hampton actually was ok in Nov., but I don’t trust any polls, esp in VA where you cannot get voter registration #s and watch trends.

So, for ex., yes, they may ask if a person is a D or R, but what SAMPLE of Ds and Rs are they using? Almost certainly wrong.

RINOs have little appeal south of the Rappahannock.

More than one article in VA papers attest to that. Cheap Labor Express Ed is not particularly liked, except in NOVA. Little enthusiasm for him in the southern and western parts of the Commonwealth, despite what all the out-of-staters try to say.

Low turnout is the only thing that can help Gillespie.

Long-term forecast from Accuweather for November 7 is mostly sunny, with a high of 67 degrees for Northern Virginia.

The Dems are well-organized and funded in NoVA. They usually build a huge cushion due to early voting and absentee ballots. Most Reps vote on election day so the good weather should aid in their turnout.

The only hope for Gillepsie is that the push-back on illegal voting by heroes like Public Interst Legal Foundation (see: https://publicinterestlegal.org/blog/report-5500-noncitizens-discovered-voter-rolls-virginia/)
will suppress Dem activity.

The margins here in VA are narrow and the last three or more election cycles have been determined by fraud within them.

I prefer the socialist BLM proponent democrat over the RINO Gillespie /SARC

They are both for importing in excess of low education, low wealth LEGAL immigrants, in excess of ONE Million EVERY YEAR. However the RINO will be for less taxes, pro-military and against Obamacare. I prefer the RINO over the pro gay marriage, abortion on demand, democrat.

America needs to wake up and follow example of India, where they have printed about 800 MILLION photo voter ID’s. If India can afford that many photo voter ID’s, it is a shame we let any person vote without a photo ID based on citizenship. I was naturalized US citizen in 1970. And have voted in every presidential election since. And have resided in 4 different states since citizenship. Yet not a single time I was asked to show proof of citizenship, even though it is obvious from my accent I was not born here.
